Anyone get this message? It has happened twice now and I just ignored it last week but it came on again last night. I just had the car serviced and there is no leaking or overheating. Maybe a bad sensor?
Not sure if this was directed toward me? I checked it myself and topped it off as it was a little low.did they really check the coolant level and said it is low or just added a bit of coolant and message went away and they did not look any further?
What type of coolant did you add? Just got the check coolant message too!Not sure if this was directed toward me? I checked it myself and topped it off as it was a little low.
For top off all you need is some distilled water - few cups did it for meWhat type of coolant did you add? Just got the check coolant message too!
It happened to me just today as well: 2022 Evo Spyder RWD, got it back a few weeks ago from its second annual service; water temperature stayed below 90c, yet the sign was red before turning back to white after a few minutes. I’m wondering how common this issue is and if it is some sensitive sensor or some type of leak..This just happened to me again with 2021 EVO. I just added universal coolant, yellow color.
Russ, even though they say universal, it is better to keep the same kind of coolant in the system. You should do a flush when you get a chance and then keep some backup of the same kind. Different coolants have different bases. Although they are compatible, they are not equal. This just happened to me again with 2021 EVO. I just added universal coolant, yellow color.
Be very careful. You do not want to overheat the motor even once. Why not put a mechanical temp sensor on the motor and watch the readings or an electronic one that can transmit. That way you will know if the motor is actually getting hot.It happened to me just today as well: 2022 Evo Spyder RWD, got it back a few weeks ago from its second annual service; water temperature stayed below 90c, yet the sign was red before turning back to white after a few minutes. maybe they didn't bleed it well and you had some air in the systemIt happened to me just today as well: 2022 Evo Spyder RWD, got it back a few weeks ago from its second annual service; water temperature stayed below 90c, yet the sign was red before turning back to white after a few minutes. i don't think distilled is a good idea, it corrodes. if i leave a little distilled water in my hose when washing the car it'll come out rusty after a few days. For top off all you need is some distilled water - few cups did it for me
Yes, that appears to be the issue: I called the dealer and they did drain/refill the coolant; apparently air pockets forming are quite common after a coolant replacement in Huracans..?maybe they didn't bleed it well and you had some air in the system
I also saw that the same issue after refilling/bleeding the coolant on a Huracan, was brought up recently by another member:Yes, that appears to be the issue: I called the dealer and they did drain/refill the coolant; apparently air pockets forming are quite common after a coolant replacement in Huracans..?
That is great advice . Lambos can trap air in the systems very easily.maybe they didn't bleed it well and you had some air in the system
Distilled water is fine as long as there is a high enough percentage of coolant to prevent freezing . It has rust inhibitors and is diluted with water anyway. You use distilled water to prevent mineral deposits from building up in the cooling system. Most tapwater contains lots of minerals. Just boil away a panful and look at the residue.i don't think distilled is a good idea, it corrodes. if i leave a little distilled water in my hose when washing the car it'll come out rusty after a few days.
there is probably enough floating ions in your coolant to make up for it, but i wouldn't risk it
