Scissor doors on a Huracan

What does all the knowledgable and intelligent people on the forum think about this?

Is it trying too much, or destroying/modding the Huracan too much, wannabe-style, or is it just cool and go do it?

I have not made up my own mind about what I think about it. I think we all understand that Lamborghini only put the scissor doors on the Aventador (and other V12s) by a good reason to differentiate the baby and the bigboy, and to ofcourse sell more of the Aventador but... still...

With the scissor doors its actually (if I get it right) a practical thing too - more convenient to get in/out of the car in narrow places and garages etc... or is it not?

Here is what I think. First of all it look BADASS, I am not gonna lie... at least in the video, so I don't know how well it looks in person (gaps, how easy it opens/closes).

That being said, and to put it into a different perspective, it would be like if you bought a Jeep Wrangler SPORT and put RUBICON decals on the hood, that's how I see it.

I have a Gallardo and I wouldn't mind having scissor doors, especially because it is a pain in the ass to get in & out of the car in my garage but I wouldn't do it because it just doesn't belong to the car!

I have seen these installed on a couple Huracans and they do not open like Lamborghini scissor doors, you first must pull open like a regular door and then lift up, looks lame. Also was in a shop when a set was getting installed and there was quite of bit of grinding being done so not sure how reversible it is

If you are impervious to the jokes/sneers at car shows or restaurants, then its your car and your right to do as you please. ANY Lamborghini attracts
a ton of attention regardless of the doors but nothing sways the attention faster from positive attention to negative attention than scissor doors on a non scissor door car. I am not condoning the sneers/negative reactions but rather telling you what to prepare for if you go down that road

I also go with NO. #1, I'm not a fan of scissor doors. Not because of looks, I think they are an icon to Lambo but the AV's and Mclaren's I've been in, for me it was a pain getting in and out. Plus, the wife said no because how is she supposed to get out of the car wearing a dress. She said she would be flashing everyone. LOL. #2, I just feel like Scissor doors are for V12's. I feel like its stealing character from another car when the H has its own character. #3, I feel like it cheapens the car. You see so many cars buying and putting these kits on vettes, camaros, chargers, etc. By adding this to a car that doesnt come with them, I feel like you now bunch the H into that category.

I think it will look a little off as it isn't a v12, however, if it can be done (and then undone if you sell it) for a reasonable amount of money and you really like the look then go for it! It may look silly, but I am personally going to put underglow on my huracan when I get it. There's a little child in all of us!

And the little child in me will laugh at the guy who does that to his doors. The teasing we did of our friend that had them was relentless. It was worse than the teasing I got for wearing driving gloves that one time, the little child in us can also be a massive ball buster :)

Guy on date: “Here, let me open up your door for you”
(Opens like a normal door then hinges upwards)
Woman “Why didnt it go straight up”
Guy: “i want the impression of the most expensive Lamborghini without the pricetag….if you play your cards right, you will get the worlds most impressive CZ ring😘”
Woman: 😑

I'm a dealer for Vertical Doors and have sold multiple kits for these cars and some C8's, etc. It's a good kit, but install is 15 hours+. If interested, I'll help you guys out, you just need a good competent installer.

It looks nice once open but the problem is if you look closely in the vid at one point like in most doors like these there's a lot of spring/jiggle once it's open flat before lifting it up. The jiggle looks very cheap. You can see the sales people trying real hard in many videos not to show the wiggle. Many people who have put them on Vettes for example often regret it because it can rub the paint and become loose and chipping even more paint. Some are always struggling to realign the doors.

Over all I wouldn't put them on.
