Reliability and Maintenance. Sorry for the Dumb questions.

I suspect the A is very reliable and has no huge blazing red flags.

It is also my suspicion that the single "double" clutch shifting mechanism is pretty much sorted for any blaring problems.

That said, how long are clutches lasting?

Maintenance is pretty much just fluids, tires, brake bleeding?

Lamborghini isn't calling the transmission "E-gear" any more. Is it called, "haldex"?

I am starting to think about moving on (with a heavy heart!) from my 6 speed Gallardo, and its only an Aventador that tickles my fancy!

Thank you so much for all the replies! :)

I saw someone asked a clutch life question before, however from the lack of responses (and I just read every page on this aventador sub-forum), it seems that clutches last a very long time indeed.

One of the cars I am considering had the clutch replaced, so it makes me wonder.

Anyone have any other input?

Yeah, I was reading about some transmission problems with some even needing to be replaced! Ack!

I usually shy away from first year models as well, but if you look at the G or the M, the first year models all ran very strong though lacking in some improvements like front lift, etc.... So the "first year" bug may just be that. A myth.

David, I plan on test driving some A's in the next week or two. Would you elaborate on what is an ISR transmission and what you know of it?

I would likely continue to drive my A like I do my G. Spirited and fast in the twisties with the homies! Just like we do David! :D

I doubt my finances (or wife) would let me swing at a 2015.:whip:

Recalls/campaigns are usually handled by the dealership anyways. My G needed a recall YEARS after the warranty expired and it was the smoothest recall I've ever had. Ask me about my current Honda recall.....

As my Lamborghini ownership has been nothing short of wonderful, even with my own changing of my clutch, I am very optimistic that my continued ownership would equally follow suite.

I saw a 2012 with over 20k miles and that made me feel that if that car could get >20k miles, then it could not have spent too much time getting fixed in the shop?! :)

I test drove a 15 roadster and got hooked.

The ISR transmission is worlds away from the e-gear's I've driven.

The A felt like a cadillac compared to my G and I really liked all the electronic upgrades.

Now, I'm off to see if I can make it happen!

I have a 2015 Aventador and have friends who have 2012, 2013 and 2014 models. We drive these Lambos on a regular basis.

Aventadors are very reliable, probably the most reliable car Lamborghini has ever built (with the exception of the Huracan)

The service manager at my local Lambo dealership told me they have yet to replace a clutch on Aventadors.

I would stay away from 2012 if you can help it. Although by now most of the 2012s have been through the updates and issues have been resolved, they have a different/stiffer suspensions than the 2013 and later models.

I transitioned from 2006 Galardo to 2007 Murci to 2015 Aventador. I love all 3, but there is nothing like driving an Aventador, you feel like you are on tip of a bullet and the style of the car is way ahead of it's time, there is nothing out there in that price range that could even come close to it.

Go for a 2013 or later model and pay the $2,500 for the exhaust software upgrade, you will love it!
Interesting real world feedback. Thank you for that! :D

I am getting all my ducks in order to see what I can purchase. I will purchase the most/newest/baddassingest one I can!:evil::D
