It's condensation inside?

If so, you will need to reseal the light assembly with silicon after getting the inside dried. A hair dryer can be used to dry it.

 

Is there an opening somewhere to direct the air from the hairdryer into the housing?
If not, Is there a safe way to effect separation between the lens and housing?
Or, can I simply use direct the hairdryer stream topically?

If you just want to dry it, leave car in the sun for a few hours. There should be vents that allow the vapor to evacuate.

Using hair dryer from the outside may take a while. You can use a portable heater as long as it doesn't melt anything.

To fix it permanently, you will have to take the light out to reseal it. I am not sure how easy it is but you can probably do some research. The front trunk or wheel liner may have to come out.

 

A foggy residue dries on inside of the glass lense. Only way to restore fresh look is to very carefully split open, scrub and clean, then seal. Murci headlights are expensive, If you Crack the glass lense, you most likely will be looking for a replacement headlight.

 

CadillacJack...I believe you are correct.
I tried to dry the lense but I don't believe it's condensation. There seems to be some sort of residue that has accumulated on the inside of the lens. Would you have any "tips" on how to "split" it open and clean. Do I dare try and do it myself or would I be better advised to get it professionally done?

 

Where are you located? It is risky, patience is key. I have restored a few sets, and would recommend having someone do it.....plastic is thin around the lense and they have a large tongue and groove channel filled with a black polyurethane seal that does not react to heat.

 

Now my location is probably my greatest drawback for this type of expertise...I am in Hawaii. Do you know of anyone I can send it to and what the cost would be?

Yes they do need attention. Worse I have seen. Is there cracks In the plastic around projector on RH light???

 

No there are no cracks in either Lens. Just the cloudiness on the inside of both lenses.

Mine were pretty hazy as well, I just dropped them off at the shop to be refinished. CadillacJack - did you swap out your HID bulbs after cleaning them up? From what I understand it's some sort of chemical reaction with the HIDs that's causing it.

Yes, fresh bulbs. No telling when the haze will return. Seen on low mileage and high.
