miles/year you are averaging?

Noticed today while flipping thru the latest issue of the Dupont Registry and perusing the many dozens of Ferraris for sale, that the average F owner puts on less than 2000 miles/year, irrescpective of the year of the car or where they live.

This seems really low. Anyone know what the average G owner puts on in a year? I am guessing it will be 2-3x that much. Has anyone ever done a poll?

I'm not sure why this would surprise you in any way. Low miles are the norm on all supercars for several reasons. There is no need for a survey, simply look at some of the bigger exotic car dealer websites and check the mileage on their "for sale" cars.

Almost nobody uses any supercar as a daily driver. The Gallardo isn't any different. It simply isn't practical. Lack of seating, cargo space, etc. I would never go grocery shopping in my Lambo. Assuming I don't get hit by any rogue carts, other morons in the crowded parking lot there, etc. there is almost zero room to stow the groceries. Most people also don't drive these cars in heavy rain or snow either for good reason.

This is not unique to Lambo, Ferrari, or any other supercar.

I put 1100 on my Spyder last year and I live in Southern California, where it is sunny most of the year. Numbers like this are not uncommon from other Lambo owners i've encountered.

One year doesn't lend itself to find an average, but for me, it was 9,000. In central PA... and Northern VA... and DC... and MD.... well, now I guess it makes sense!

I'm sure it won't be half of that this year, but I was like a 14 year old with his first Playboy ... just had to show and tell.

I put on 3850 in 4 years in Honolulu.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I love Roys's reply!

The point of my post was that I suspect (but have no data to know for sure) that Lambo owners average more than 2K miles per year on their Gallardos. I average about 5K Miles/year. The G seems more driveable than an F car, and that is why I suspect that they see more miles. Anecdotally, they seem to see 2-3x as many miles. (on the average).

@JustHayes
The Dupont Registry organized everything nicely, and it was easy to spot the trend with F cars. That is not the case with Gallardos. It is only trivia, so not worth my time or anyone elses to research. Just making an interesting observation.

Last year put about 7000 on. This year might be less now that I have the Z06. My goal is to drive the Lambo AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

Just sold our SL55 but it was getting about 5000/year until we bought the Lambo - then it dropped to about 2500 last summer.

I put 2500 on Z06 since getting it in mid-Feb.

I've managed about 6000 per year, despite about 8 months of downtime. I'd drive it a LOT more if fuel wasn't so expensive :(

I'm probably alone on this but I dont ever waste miles for just the sake of driving. Every mile to me special and I really look forward to it. I never want to lose that special feeling. For me it is just for pleasure. Keeping it special works for me.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

I never waste miles either. I drive JUST to drive it, and every moment in the car is special whether I have a destination in mind, or not. Sometimes (if hubby is along) I might run into the grocery store or do a quick errand. I'd do them ALL in the lambo if I could but it's just not possible.

To me - driving it for ANY reason ANY time is an event. I don't "save" it for particular reasons. If I can drive it - I will - and I'll savor every moment :) To me - the Lambo is ALL pleasure !
