Is it me or LPs are dropping in prices?

Jeez that balloon white car is an amazing machine. Would be nice to grab that for 132, send it off to Dallas Perf. for a 6 speed manual conversion and be in it for 150 with a 6 speed! So much want in that car.

Yup. I notice the $135k pearl white car's front bumper cover has been repainted, that lower center section should be black rather than body color. Maybe just the camera angle/trick of the light & I could easily be wrong, but in a couple pictures it also seemed like the gap was inconsistent between the front bumper cover & the hood and headlights.

In the case of one of those cars, I could understand the low price since it has over 21,000 miles on it. Though we know these cars are well-built, the 10k & 20k marks seem like stigmas for many exotic car buyers.

I was going to buy a 09 LP-550-2 bicolore for 127k a week ago. The seller wouldn't work with me and try to meet me... so I moved on.

Yea these are coming down. No doubt.

The influx of Huracans, and their prices coming down below the 200K mark is driving the LP prices south as well. I know a lot of G owners were waiting for this point hence might be more supply then demand.

Many of the initial 09 LP G's are also hitting higher mileage now (20K+) as well. And lets not forget those are now 8 year old cars, which comes with its own slew of maintenance and repair issues.

In any case its a lot of car for the money thats for sure.

Market will dip and stabilize before going back up. Don't go for bottom of the barrel you will get a car with either issues and problems and/or surprises w body work, damage, not clean title etc...

There is no such thing as a "steal" in most cases w exotics you get what you pay for. Buyer beware.

Agree with Sunir. Been looking since May and have noticed some movement of non-lambo dealer sites. Loving near Lambo Dallas, prices there seem to be about this same one the past few months. Yes, they are more expensive, but they also have premium cars from what i can tell. Just waiting for the right SL to come along.......

Looking for a LP570 SL in red or white. Been looking since May and I'm sure I'll find the right car. I just have to be patient.....

From a production number standpoint if those were the two must have colors you need to consider the Super Tofeo and the 50th aniversario. With those limited stated production numbers speculation of appreciation is on your side. I think the SL's are gonna hold the value for some time but the hype of the last manual G would push me to the 50th aniversario.

In case you missed these two.

Pre-LP coupe cars are increasing (E-gear and manual) and now some example are almost $15k short of an LP coupe which arguably is a better car in every respect including servicing.

As long as this trend continues the LPs will rise slightly imo.

There maybe a time when Huracans start to mix in with LP coupes like when there was an overlap between the Ferrari 360 coupes and 355 coupes some years back.

Compared to 2 years ago when I first started looking LP cars are down $10-20k. It used to be you couldn't touch an LP for under $140k. Pre LP are down about $10k. The economy will drive the price but I do think we are in a bit of a glut currently since it's the previous model and there's quite a few for sale from people who got huracans. Theres a big group of lambs owners who want the latest and greatest and they all just jumped ship. Eventually all those cars get sold to enthusiasts or collectors who will hold them for awhile if not forever and the available cars will be less and the price will rise accordingly. So as far as I can tell this is a good time to buy gallardos.

1. Statistical data on actual SOLD price vs SELLING PRICE is unavailable. i.e. a Huracan can be sold at $10k below asking price while LP560 can be sold at $3k below asking price. This is the true data required to understand price movements.

2. Seasonal variation effects all sold prices and precieved values of Lamborghini's. The price delta can be more divergant with weather predictions or actual warm weather. This can increase the demand for soft top Lambo's and provide a 'blip' in considered price increases.

3. Availability of credit is another factor. If interest rates were to increase then the actual true cost of the car would increase. This would be negative for actual and percieved prices. For the majority that buy on credit ( and maybe put cash into other investment areas to yield a return to outweigh the cost of interest) they may choose to not purchase a performance car. The availability of credit can and do vary year on year and arguably the biggest factor in percieved values of Lambos.

4. Colours and specification are very important when it comes to Lambos. The wrong combination of interior and exterior will greatly effect percieved and actual prices. Furthermore, desirable colours will be priced strongly. Every year availability of colours and spec will be different. This will further skew data obtained since you are not comparing 'apples with apples'.

5. Sample Survey. The sample galvanised from 1 or maybe 2 car selling sites does not take into account friends selling to each other or cars being bought and sold on internet forums. Therefore the sample is limited and open to wrong interpretation.

From the above I will leave it to the reader to make their own conclusions on the value of discussing percieved price increases / decreases.

LPs are DEFINATELY dropping. About a year ago, Lamborghini Newport posted a 30k+ mile orange 2009 for $130k ask.....and there was pretty much a group orgasm on here:eek:

I was even digging through couch cushions.

Today, on just 1 site, there are 7 with asks LESS than $130k, most in the mid-teens to low-20s mile range.

Been debating turning in my 08 Balloon White Spider with 16k mi for a '13 B/White with 8k mi... Have the LOC5, CF Package, and and and in upgrades... the '13 is stock... I just dont think I can part with the raw ride of the preLP, plus spend 40k-50k+ for a 'newer' model that's almost the same. IDK!

Has anyone done the manual conversion on an SL? They are holding their value pretty well so they might be too expensive to mess with, but seeing as how there are only 4 manual LP570-4's out of 150, would it be a terrible idea to convert one?
Obviously it wouldn't be worth anywhere near an original, but I think you'd be able to sell it if you needed to without too much of a hit.

The only manual conversion that's been documented on any US LP is 10352, a silver 560-4 spyder owned by a member on this forum. Per photographs that were shared, the conversion appeared to be very well done. The car was recently listed on ebay but I don't think it met the reserve. Have no idea if the conversion was a factor but the price did seem very reasonable.

There is only one factory LP560-4 manual spyder in the US in addition to the three Performantes. So a total of four manual spyders similar to the total of four manual Superleggeras. 10352 is the only data point we have on selling a converted version of a rare model.

It is currently relisted. Seems like a big mistake to not fully disclose the conversion on the ad, especially if it was done well.

One car is far cry from common though. From a few posts on here it seemed like it had been done a lot. I guess even if done flawlessly, it still wouldn't be a good idea from a future value perspective.

I sure do like the Blu Caelum SL currently for sale, but the feel of the gated shifter trumps anything else.

I would think that that kind of power would be better suited to an auto, but maybe the manual holds up better.
I actually called Dallas performance today. They said a conversion would run between $16-17k and they've done at least ten with no major problems.

It certainly is an option, but I think in the long run I'd be better off with an original gated LP.
