I actually am having a very hard time dealing with a specific dealer. I actually put the deposit down on the car I wanted and it ALL went downhill from there.
I contacted someone from Excell Auto Group. I explained that I'm getting my loan from BofA and they only deal with AUTHORIZED dealer. So the guy was like no problem... I'm FRIENDS with Lamborghini Miami and we can sell you the car through them.
So, a day later when I emailed him about a PPI with my mechanic, he insisted that I use Lamborghini Miami. I said NO, I want to use my own. Why would I get a PPI from your FRIEND when I'm buying the car from you.
He was persistent and told me that he may not be able to sell me the car if I Don't get an inspection by Lamborghini Miami because they are not going to sell me the car through their AUTHORIZED dealership if they don't know anything about the car. So I suggested, I will do the PPI with them AND my own guy. He said yes...
I paid for the PPI with Lamborghini Miami ($550) and it came back ok. Once again, he insisted that this PPI was enough and that the buy process is taking too long. I insisted for the second PPI. He said other people want the car. So, I put a deposit down ($500)...
Day 1 - I arranged the PPI and all day of naggin him, he tells me the flatbed truck broke down on the way to the mechanic.
Day 2 - He said he had some personal problems and was not at the office.
Day 3 - He told me the car will be at the mechanic at 12pm. I called at 2pm to tell him the car is still not there. He told me... It should have been there...I called the mechanic to double check and nothing... I called back and he didn't answer. Tried again and no answer.
Day 4 - Didn't return my calls or emails.
Day 5 - Called his dealership and his assistant told me that he JUST stepped out. Left a message and call back number. Never called back.
He wont answer my emails or my calls. He made me waste $550 on the PPI and has my $500 deposit.
All I want is my car I'm pretty sure the buying process shouldn't be this excruciating.
While browsing the forum, I already found other people who had similar experiences. It is quiet obvious that this dealer doesn't care about his reputation...

UPDATE NOTICE - REPLY FROM DEALER
So a member from Ferrarichat.com forwarded my review from here to the dealership and got this response from the DEALER (posted on FerrariChat.com - FerrariChat.com - View Single Post - Excell Auto Group - SCAM EXPERIENCE:
UPDATE / MY RESPONSE:
Here was my response and PROOF.
Great. Now that I finally got him to acknowledge me, he digs himself into a DEEPER hole. Where do I start… First of all it's pretty apparent that this guy's professionalism is subpar. What kind of dealer writes an entire email in CAP LOCKS?
Mr. Scott Zankl is a PRIME example of an OLDER generation of Car Dealers who fails to understand that ONE bad customer can single handedly destroy your reputation online. And I suppose the ONLY reason Mr. Zankl is actually addressing me here is because (try this yourself) when you type is "EXCELL AUTO GROUP" on Google.com, THIS thread titled "Excell Auto Group - SCAM EXPERIENCE" is one of the Top 10 results. Kind of makes you look bad to potential new victims looking at your inventory… Doesn't it Scott?
So for Mr. Scott Zankl, I will break down this entire transaction in lament terms…
HE STATES:
"First of all this customer named Khan contacted our dealership for one full week trying to negotiate the number on the Lamborghini Gallardo, finally after a week we came to a number. Once we agreed on the number then he tells me Owe by the way I am pre approved with Bank of America which will only do business with a factory store."
RESPONSE:
This is an outright lie. The first part of this statement is called negotiating. I think we all do it when we are trying to buy an item. As for the latter part, I am Pre-Approved by Bank of America and one of their terms is to purchase from an AUTHORIZED dealer to avoid the dilemmas like the current one that I'm in. I made this QUITE clear to Mr Scott before the transaction. To which he replied: "No problem. I have friends at Lamborghini Miami and we can sell you the car through them."
HE STATES:
"I told him why did you not tell me this in the beginning because I am not a factory store we can’t do the deal anyway."
REPONSE:
LIE, I can't even imagine why he would say this. Why would I want to waste someone's time. As any of you guys know... When you have finally reached a pinnacle where you can actually buy your exotic, the last thing you want to do is beat around the bush. You want your car NOW. You've dreamed about this moment for so long! I'm trying to buy a $100k+ car. I don't want to waste my time.
HE STATES:
"So after a week of wasting my time, he then calls me back and says Bank of America just needs to pay a factory store. Do you know any I said yes my friend owns Lamborghini Miami I will call him to see if we can run the car through his store so you can still buy My car. I called my friend and he said no problem you can sell me the car and then we will sell the car to your customer I said great."
RESPONSE:
What kind of dealer would say that about a customer? After a week of wasting his time? Sir, last time I checked, this was a BUYER's market. I'm giving YOU money. You should be taking care of me and making the transaction as smooth as possible! How can I possibly be wasting YOUR time from all the way from New York for a week when the car was listed on eBay, Autotrader and Cars.com during this entire week. When did catering to a customer become a WASTE of time to dealers?
HE STATES:
"I THINK KHAN UNDERSTOOD THIS BUT I AM NOT SURE FROM WHAT I COULD GATHER HE HAS NEVER BOUGHT AN EXOTIC CAR IN HIS LIFE BEFORE. THE CAR WAS INSPECTED AT LAMBORGHINI MIAMI AND EVERYTHING CAME BACK GREAT, EXCEPT TWO MINOR THINGS THEY FOUND WHICH WE HAD THEM FIXED $1000 DOLLARS OR SO. "
REPONSE:
Once again, you can see his lack of professionalism as he continues to SLANDER me because I'm a FIRST time exotic buyer. First time or a thousandth time, I'm suppose to get the same treatment as anyone else.
HE STATES:
"THE CAR WAS AT LAMBORGHINI MIAMI FOR 4 DAYS GETTING FIXED. WHEN IT WAS DONE KHAN SAID "I ALSO WANT TO HAVE ANOTHER INSPECTION DONE BY AN OUTSIDE GUY", I SAID, "KHAN WE HAVE BEEN GOING ON AND ON WITH THIS DEAL FOR TWO WEEKS LETS GET IT DONE. YOU HAVE A INSPECTION FROM A FACTORY LAMBORGHINI STORE WHAT DO THINK THEY WILL RIGHT UP A FALSE REPORT ON A GALLARDO THAT THEY DON’T EVEN OWN NOT MAKE ANY MONEY AND THAT OPENS THEM UP FOR A LAW SUITE AS WELL AS THERE FACTORY REPUTATION "
COME ON GET REAL. "
RESPONSE:
From the previous convo, you guys can already get the gist that I was pretty UNCOMFORTABLE getting an inspection done from the SAME people I would be buying the car from (common sense!). I explained to the Scott beforehand and he AGREED that we can get two PPI's done and I would pay for them. Let's expose his FIRST lie. He CLEARLY states that I waited 4 days till the car was fixed at Lamobrghini Miami to tell him that I want another PPI done by an outside guy. Here is my email to Scott Zankl on JUNE 11, 2011 stating I want a PPI done by a third party. Remember the date JUNE 11, 2011. Now check the inspection report from Prestige Imports also known as Lamborghini Miami. The PPI started June 13, 2011 and ended June 16, 2011. Clearly, he KNEW before hand that I wanted my inspection done. 5 days to be exact. FIRST LIE EXPOSED.
EVIDENCE: (My EMail)
EVIDNECE: (First PPI Report)
HE STATES:
"OH AND BY THE WAY I FORGEOT TO MENTION I FAX OVER TO KHAN FOUR TIMES A DEPOSIT AGREEMENT FOR HIN TO SIGN BEFORE THE CAR LEFT OUR STORE TO BE INSPECTED WE HAVE TO HAVE ONE BEFORE IT LEAVES THE DEALERSHIP AND HE KEPT TELLING ME I AM NOT GETTING IT PLEAE FAX AGAIN BUT BY SURE SURPRISE WHEN THE CAR WAS INSPECTED AND IT PASSED HE GOT MY FAX AND SENT THE DEPOSIT BACK TO US "
RESPONSE:
More LIES. First of all he never faxed it. I do NOT even own a fax machine. He clearly EMAILED me a copy. The first time he did, he asked me for a $10,000 deposit. And forgot to attach the document. Why on EARTH would I put down a deposit on a car that I know nothing about. Of course I'm going to wait to get the PPI results before initiating the buying process. On June 10th, I emailed about the missing attachment. As you can see, I was extremely motivated and wanted to close the deal ASAP. And ALSO, in this email two, I confirmed that we're getting TWO PPI's done. Here is a copy of my email asking for the attached document:
EVIDENCE:
HE STATES: "I AGREED TO HAVE HIS OTHER INSPECTION GUY LOOK AT IT; I THOUGHT WE HAVE PUT THIS MUCH TIME IN IT LETS FINISH THE DEAL.
WHEN THE CAR WAS READY I CALLED KHAN CAN YOUR GUY LOOK AT THE CAR TODAY HE SAID NO TOMORROW I SAID OKAY.
TOMORROW CAME AND HIS GUY HAD TO HAVE THE CAR THERE IN THE AM TO DO IT WE HAD A PROBLEM WITH OUR FLAT BED IN THE AM SO WE CALLED KAHN AND SAID EVRTYTHING WAS FINE CAN WE BRING IT OVER NOW? IT WAS AT LUNCH TIME
HA SAID NO TOMORROW. I FINALLY SAID KHAN THIS IS TO MUCH I AM REFUNDING YOU’RE DEPOSIT I HAVE PEOPLE THAT ARE CALLING EVERYDAY TO WIRE MONEY IN FOR THIS CAR I AM SORRY BUT I AM SELLING THE CAR TO SOMEONE ELSE. "
RESPONSE:
ALL LIES. He gave me a complete runaround. I called and called. Left messages. Wrote email and he never answered me. It was QUITE apparent to me that there was something wrong with the car that his FRIENDS at Lamborghini Miami simply OVERLOOKED during the inspection. If you guys don't believe me, PLEASE CALL Maury and ask him. Here is his contact:

Please ask him how many PPIs I scheduled with him during the month of June and how many times Scott lied to be about the car being there and it never showed up. I encourage you to take 30 sec to talk to the fellow. He's a great honest guy.
HE STATES:
"DAVE THE ONLY THING THE CUSTOMER KHAN LOST WAS THE PPI INSPECTION MONEY WE REFUNDED HIS DEPOSIT OF $500 DOLLARS BUT WE LOST $200 DOLLARS IN TOWING THE CAR BACK AND FORTH PLUS THE TWO THINGS THAT WERE MINOR THAT WE FIXED FOR THE CUSTOMER $1000 DOLLARS. SO IN MY MATH WE LOST MORE MONEY THEN HE DID BUT I GUESS THAT IS OKAY WE ARE THE DEALER AND ITS OKAY IF WE GET SCREWED."
RESPONSE:
Let's expose LIE number 2. He is LYING about refunding my money. Here is a current bank statement from Bank of America. You can clearly see that there were NO REFUNDS. Screenshots to the rescue once again. In the highlighted part, here are the two important transactions:
PRESTIGE IMPORTS AUDI
$550.52
EXCELL AUTO GROUP INC
$500.00
EVIDENCE: (Bank Statement)
These guys are TOTAL crooks and unprofessional. Scott Zankl, please don't threaten me with that attorney talk. It's my RIGHT as a consumer to post about my experiences. Until you REFUND my money, I will make sure you have to CHANGE your LLC/Corp ONCE again as you have done in the past before you can start scamming more customers.
Note to Dave: Since Scott seems to be cooperating with you via email. Can all three of us get on the phone with my bank to confirm my refund? Please DM for my phone number. Would love to talk…
Lastly, the only thing I admire about Scott Zankl and the way he runs his business is the keen knowledge of how to evade the law and not be accountable for their actions. Everything from the following bogus confidentiality statement in his emails:
Confidentiality Note:
The information contained in this email is legally privileged and confidential. This message is intended for the individual named above. If you have received this email in error please contact the sender at the phone number or email listed above.
And the fact the he didn't REPLY here as HIMSELF so I can't hold him accountable for his OUTRIGHT LIE about refunding my money. By the way Dave, you'd be a GOD if you can forward that email to me so I can have it as proof for my lawyers. I can't believe this guy actually LIED about refunding my money.
As always, I am ALWAYS open to talk to anyone and answer anyone's questions…
