Excell Auto Group
990 SOUTH ROGERS CIRCLE #4
Boca Raton, FL 33487

I actually am having a very hard time dealing with a specific dealer. I actually put the deposit down on the car I wanted and it ALL went downhill from there.

I contacted someone from Excell Auto Group. I explained that I'm getting my loan from BofA and they only deal with AUTHORIZED dealer. So the guy was like no problem... I'm FRIENDS with Lamborghini Miami and we can sell you the car through them.

So, a day later when I emailed him about a PPI with my mechanic, he insisted that I use Lamborghini Miami. I said NO, I want to use my own. Why would I get a PPI from your FRIEND when I'm buying the car from you.

He was persistent and told me that he may not be able to sell me the car if I Don't get an inspection by Lamborghini Miami because they are not going to sell me the car through their AUTHORIZED dealership if they don't know anything about the car. So I suggested, I will do the PPI with them AND my own guy. He said yes...

I paid for the PPI with Lamborghini Miami ($550) and it came back ok. Once again, he insisted that this PPI was enough and that the buy process is taking too long. I insisted for the second PPI. He said other people want the car. So, I put a deposit down ($500)...

Day 1 - I arranged the PPI and all day of naggin him, he tells me the flatbed truck broke down on the way to the mechanic.

Day 2 - He said he had some personal problems and was not at the office.

Day 3 - He told me the car will be at the mechanic at 12pm. I called at 2pm to tell him the car is still not there. He told me... It should have been there...I called the mechanic to double check and nothing... I called back and he didn't answer. Tried again and no answer.

Day 4 - Didn't return my calls or emails.

Day 5 - Called his dealership and his assistant told me that he JUST stepped out. Left a message and call back number. Never called back.

He wont answer my emails or my calls. He made me waste $550 on the PPI and has my $500 deposit.

All I want is my car I'm pretty sure the buying process shouldn't be this excruciating.

While browsing the forum, I already found other people who had similar experiences. It is quiet obvious that this dealer doesn't care about his reputation...

I purchased a 2006 Lamborghini Gallardo from Excell Auto Group in August 2009 and dealt directly with the owner Scott Zankl. Scott Zankl is very cordial and comes off as someone you can trust when you meet him, but he certainly has not treated me well. When I purchased the car, I trusted him because he seemed like such a nice guy and did not engage in high pressure sales tactics. Multiple times during the sales process he made the point of saying that he always takes care of his customers after the sale. However, he won’t return my phone calls or respond to my emails despite many attempts to contact him. When I purchased the car, one of the wheels was missing a center cap and Scott said he would get it to me within a few days, and I have a document stating that he owes me this. It has been over 4 months now and he has ignored the requests and I have now given up asking for the missing part. The amazing fact is that the center cap is an inexpensive item and he is willing to upset a customer over something that costs so little. In terms of the car itself, the Egear pump was going bad when he sold the car to me as it occasionally refused to shift and would not shift multiple gears at one time. Since this was the only Gallardo I had ever driven, I did not realize anything was wrong with the car but rather thought it was typical of an Egear. The Egear pump failed shortly after I purchased the car leaving the car inoperable. The mileage recorded on the title from when Excell Auto Group received the car to when they sold it to me indicates they put a few hundred miles on the car while they had it so they would have almost certainly experienced the malfunctioning Egear as well. Although I can’t be certain, I would be lead to believe that Excell Auto knew about the problem that existed but sold me the car anyway. The car had no warranty when I purchased it so Excell Auto was not obligated to fix the car, and I didn’t even try to contact them about this issue seeing as how Scott ignored my previous attempts to contact him.
I wish I did my research BEFORE... Another lesson learned..

Other Pissed Customers:

Jerry Fry from FerrariChat.com states:
Be careful guys, make sure you get a ppi inspection, my partner and I just purchased 2 cars from Scott last month. 2006 f430 4 quarts low on motor oil and no fluid in the f1pump, no manual and no second set of keys. Was told car has been serviced ready to go with 65 percent left on the clutch. 2007 gallardo, Wrong manual with car and check engine light on.

I have them both at Midwestern Auto Group being repaired 95 percent on the clutch for the ferrari and exhaust ports plugged on the gallardo.
There is so much more that needs told, But i think you all get the point!
What a shame, I really like Scott but he really misrepresented his company!

Pro2cer from FerrariChat.com states:
Excell Auto - STAY AWAY! Jack Jr. has left to Ft. Lauderdale Ferrari, Jack and Scott were freind's of mine or so I thought. The truth is Jack is a stand up guy and Scott is an absolute compulsive liar who convinces himself that he tells the truth. I bought a 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha from an individual in California, Jack being my friend and neighbor arranged for shipping of the vehicle. Scott was supposed to arrange financing, a straight loan, but convinced me to use elegante leasing because it was 6.5% tax deductable and no penalties for early termination. ALL LIES! with the exception of tax deductable. The day I signed the lease I ran the payment numbers and the true interest rate was 9.75% so I told him to terminate the deal and I would pay cash, which after 2 weeks of him stalling and making up stories is what I did. This transaction cost me $5,500.00 for 2 weeks of his B.S. deal of which $1400 went directly in Scott's pocket. Don't trust him.

UPDATE NOTICE - REPLY FROM DEALER

So a member from Ferrarichat.com forwarded my review from here to the dealership and got this response from the DEALER (posted on FerrariChat.com - FerrariChat.com - View Single Post - Excell Auto Group - SCAM EXPERIENCE:

UPDATE / MY RESPONSE:
Here was my response and PROOF.

Great. Now that I finally got him to acknowledge me, he digs himself into a DEEPER hole. Where do I start… First of all it's pretty apparent that this guy's professionalism is subpar. What kind of dealer writes an entire email in CAP LOCKS?

Mr. Scott Zankl is a PRIME example of an OLDER generation of Car Dealers who fails to understand that ONE bad customer can single handedly destroy your reputation online. And I suppose the ONLY reason Mr. Zankl is actually addressing me here is because (try this yourself) when you type is "EXCELL AUTO GROUP" on Google.com, THIS thread titled "Excell Auto Group - SCAM EXPERIENCE" is one of the Top 10 results. Kind of makes you look bad to potential new victims looking at your inventory… Doesn't it Scott?

So for Mr. Scott Zankl, I will break down this entire transaction in lament terms…

HE STATES:
"First of all this customer named Khan contacted our dealership for one full week trying to negotiate the number on the Lamborghini Gallardo, finally after a week we came to a number. Once we agreed on the number then he tells me Owe by the way I am pre approved with Bank of America which will only do business with a factory store."

RESPONSE:
This is an outright lie. The first part of this statement is called negotiating. I think we all do it when we are trying to buy an item. As for the latter part, I am Pre-Approved by Bank of America and one of their terms is to purchase from an AUTHORIZED dealer to avoid the dilemmas like the current one that I'm in. I made this QUITE clear to Mr Scott before the transaction. To which he replied: "No problem. I have friends at Lamborghini Miami and we can sell you the car through them."

HE STATES:
"I told him why did you not tell me this in the beginning because I am not a factory store we can’t do the deal anyway."

REPONSE:
LIE, I can't even imagine why he would say this. Why would I want to waste someone's time. As any of you guys know... When you have finally reached a pinnacle where you can actually buy your exotic, the last thing you want to do is beat around the bush. You want your car NOW. You've dreamed about this moment for so long! I'm trying to buy a $100k+ car. I don't want to waste my time.

HE STATES:
"So after a week of wasting my time, he then calls me back and says Bank of America just needs to pay a factory store. Do you know any I said yes my friend owns Lamborghini Miami I will call him to see if we can run the car through his store so you can still buy My car. I called my friend and he said no problem you can sell me the car and then we will sell the car to your customer I said great."

RESPONSE:
What kind of dealer would say that about a customer? After a week of wasting his time? Sir, last time I checked, this was a BUYER's market. I'm giving YOU money. You should be taking care of me and making the transaction as smooth as possible! How can I possibly be wasting YOUR time from all the way from New York for a week when the car was listed on eBay, Autotrader and Cars.com during this entire week. When did catering to a customer become a WASTE of time to dealers?

HE STATES:
"I THINK KHAN UNDERSTOOD THIS BUT I AM NOT SURE FROM WHAT I COULD GATHER HE HAS NEVER BOUGHT AN EXOTIC CAR IN HIS LIFE BEFORE. THE CAR WAS INSPECTED AT LAMBORGHINI MIAMI AND EVERYTHING CAME BACK GREAT, EXCEPT TWO MINOR THINGS THEY FOUND WHICH WE HAD THEM FIXED $1000 DOLLARS OR SO. "

REPONSE:
Once again, you can see his lack of professionalism as he continues to SLANDER me because I'm a FIRST time exotic buyer. First time or a thousandth time, I'm suppose to get the same treatment as anyone else.

HE STATES:
"THE CAR WAS AT LAMBORGHINI MIAMI FOR 4 DAYS GETTING FIXED. WHEN IT WAS DONE KHAN SAID "I ALSO WANT TO HAVE ANOTHER INSPECTION DONE BY AN OUTSIDE GUY", I SAID, "KHAN WE HAVE BEEN GOING ON AND ON WITH THIS DEAL FOR TWO WEEKS LETS GET IT DONE. YOU HAVE A INSPECTION FROM A FACTORY LAMBORGHINI STORE WHAT DO THINK THEY WILL RIGHT UP A FALSE REPORT ON A GALLARDO THAT THEY DON’T EVEN OWN NOT MAKE ANY MONEY AND THAT OPENS THEM UP FOR A LAW SUITE AS WELL AS THERE FACTORY REPUTATION "
COME ON GET REAL. "

RESPONSE:
From the previous convo, you guys can already get the gist that I was pretty UNCOMFORTABLE getting an inspection done from the SAME people I would be buying the car from (common sense!). I explained to the Scott beforehand and he AGREED that we can get two PPI's done and I would pay for them. Let's expose his FIRST lie. He CLEARLY states that I waited 4 days till the car was fixed at Lamobrghini Miami to tell him that I want another PPI done by an outside guy. Here is my email to Scott Zankl on JUNE 11, 2011 stating I want a PPI done by a third party. Remember the date JUNE 11, 2011. Now check the inspection report from Prestige Imports also known as Lamborghini Miami. The PPI started June 13, 2011 and ended June 16, 2011. Clearly, he KNEW before hand that I wanted my inspection done. 5 days to be exact. FIRST LIE EXPOSED.

EVIDENCE: (My EMail)

EVIDNECE: (First PPI Report)

HE STATES:
"OH AND BY THE WAY I FORGEOT TO MENTION I FAX OVER TO KHAN FOUR TIMES A DEPOSIT AGREEMENT FOR HIN TO SIGN BEFORE THE CAR LEFT OUR STORE TO BE INSPECTED WE HAVE TO HAVE ONE BEFORE IT LEAVES THE DEALERSHIP AND HE KEPT TELLING ME I AM NOT GETTING IT PLEAE FAX AGAIN BUT BY SURE SURPRISE WHEN THE CAR WAS INSPECTED AND IT PASSED HE GOT MY FAX AND SENT THE DEPOSIT BACK TO US "

RESPONSE:
More LIES. First of all he never faxed it. I do NOT even own a fax machine. He clearly EMAILED me a copy. The first time he did, he asked me for a $10,000 deposit. And forgot to attach the document. Why on EARTH would I put down a deposit on a car that I know nothing about. Of course I'm going to wait to get the PPI results before initiating the buying process. On June 10th, I emailed about the missing attachment. As you can see, I was extremely motivated and wanted to close the deal ASAP. And ALSO, in this email two, I confirmed that we're getting TWO PPI's done. Here is a copy of my email asking for the attached document:

EVIDENCE:
Image

HE STATES: "I AGREED TO HAVE HIS OTHER INSPECTION GUY LOOK AT IT; I THOUGHT WE HAVE PUT THIS MUCH TIME IN IT LETS FINISH THE DEAL.

WHEN THE CAR WAS READY I CALLED KHAN CAN YOUR GUY LOOK AT THE CAR TODAY HE SAID NO TOMORROW I SAID OKAY.

TOMORROW CAME AND HIS GUY HAD TO HAVE THE CAR THERE IN THE AM TO DO IT WE HAD A PROBLEM WITH OUR FLAT BED IN THE AM SO WE CALLED KAHN AND SAID EVRTYTHING WAS FINE CAN WE BRING IT OVER NOW? IT WAS AT LUNCH TIME
HA SAID NO TOMORROW. I FINALLY SAID KHAN THIS IS TO MUCH I AM REFUNDING YOU’RE DEPOSIT I HAVE PEOPLE THAT ARE CALLING EVERYDAY TO WIRE MONEY IN FOR THIS CAR I AM SORRY BUT I AM SELLING THE CAR TO SOMEONE ELSE. "

RESPONSE:
ALL LIES. He gave me a complete runaround. I called and called. Left messages. Wrote email and he never answered me. It was QUITE apparent to me that there was something wrong with the car that his FRIENDS at Lamborghini Miami simply OVERLOOKED during the inspection. If you guys don't believe me, PLEASE CALL Maury and ask him. Here is his contact:

954 - 294 - 9667
Maury Bacchus
Bacchus Auto Repair
3837 Pembroke Rd
Hollywood, FL 33021

Please ask him how many PPIs I scheduled with him during the month of June and how many times Scott lied to be about the car being there and it never showed up. I encourage you to take 30 sec to talk to the fellow. He's a great honest guy.

HE STATES:
"DAVE THE ONLY THING THE CUSTOMER KHAN LOST WAS THE PPI INSPECTION MONEY WE REFUNDED HIS DEPOSIT OF $500 DOLLARS BUT WE LOST $200 DOLLARS IN TOWING THE CAR BACK AND FORTH PLUS THE TWO THINGS THAT WERE MINOR THAT WE FIXED FOR THE CUSTOMER $1000 DOLLARS. SO IN MY MATH WE LOST MORE MONEY THEN HE DID BUT I GUESS THAT IS OKAY WE ARE THE DEALER AND ITS OKAY IF WE GET SCREWED."

RESPONSE:
Let's expose LIE number 2. He is LYING about refunding my money. Here is a current bank statement from Bank of America. You can clearly see that there were NO REFUNDS. Screenshots to the rescue once again. In the highlighted part, here are the two important transactions:

PRESTIGE IMPORTS AUDI
$550.52

EXCELL AUTO GROUP INC
$500.00

EVIDENCE: (Bank Statement)

These guys are TOTAL crooks and unprofessional. Scott Zankl, please don't threaten me with that attorney talk. It's my RIGHT as a consumer to post about my experiences. Until you REFUND my money, I will make sure you have to CHANGE your LLC/Corp ONCE again as you have done in the past before you can start scamming more customers.

Note to Dave: Since Scott seems to be cooperating with you via email. Can all three of us get on the phone with my bank to confirm my refund? Please DM for my phone number. Would love to talk…

Lastly, the only thing I admire about Scott Zankl and the way he runs his business is the keen knowledge of how to evade the law and not be accountable for their actions. Everything from the following bogus confidentiality statement in his emails:

Confidentiality Note:
The information contained in this email is legally privileged and confidential. This message is intended for the individual named above. If you have received this email in error please contact the sender at the phone number or email listed above.

And the fact the he didn't REPLY here as HIMSELF so I can't hold him accountable for his OUTRIGHT LIE about refunding my money. By the way Dave, you'd be a GOD if you can forward that email to me so I can have it as proof for my lawyers. I can't believe this guy actually LIED about refunding my money.

As always, I am ALWAYS open to talk to anyone and answer anyone's questions…

I actually had a very similar story with a dealer in the same area you mentioned.

We agreed on a price and sale pending a PPI that I approved of.

I wired $10K as a deposit.

They jerked my chain for 5 days and then told me the customer of the car they were selling to me had backed out.

Needless to say I was pretty f'n pissed that they asked for 10K deposit and then pulled that crap.

Steve, just looking at it from a legal standpoint and also a cost perspective, I feel that it might cost more with the attorney and going to court than what cash he might get back (unless the lawyer can get clever and figure out ways to sue for non-material damages).

#8 ·
What a shame. You're buying a special car and it should be an exciting, fun time for you. Instead, so far it's nothing but a bitter experience. I wish I had something helpful to add but I can only offer my wishes for better luck. Hang in there.

Another day and no feedback from him. Didn't pick up my call or answer my email.

I'm actually REALLY amazed that a Lamborghini dealer would really put his reputation on the line over $500!! Like really?

lol @ the bat idea... I thought about that... lol The ticket to FL is only $200 lol

The point of this thread was more to keep others aware of this dealer and his way. As for my money, I will call my bank to see what my options are because I paid with my credit card.

The search for my G continues...! At least I'm learning from my experience! Only deal with AUTHORIZED dealerships lol

As for Excell Auto Group, I'm going to post my experience everywhere. By the time I'm done with them, they will probably have to change their NAME!

I already found two other people that were treated like how I was... on THIS forum... I should've done my research! You live and you learn.

i work in banking and you can definitely, the term is "Claw", your money back from the douche! Call your CC company now and make a complaint of fraudulent activity and provide them with the information that you called him, his company, emailed and can provide prrof to the bank if they need it then they see that you tried contacting the company/him and to no avail. Worth a shot right :) or two with a bat... LOL.... i´m stuck on the bat idea.....figuratively speaking.

I can't understand how any dealer, authorized or not, can afford to mistreat or otherwise screw a customer in this age of the internet and forums like this. Abused customers can literally ruin a business by exposing their experiences on this and other forums -- re: gvan's saga and how he affected the reputation of the Porsche dealer that try to screw him. Conversely, a good experience publicized on this forum can do wonders for a dealer struggling to establish itself. Believe me, if several dissatisfied customers got together and publicized their experiences on the internet, they could literally close down a business. That's why it's galactically stupid for any dealer to engage in shady or dishonest practises...yet there are morons who will do it anyway, and they're usually salesmen rather than the owner or manager.

I totally agree with you @Recon40 AND I think I will take it upon myself to spread the word about this guy....!

I have no skin in this game. But, I did get an email back from Scott after I contacted him, and with his permission, I'm posting the contents here.

Quote:
Good morning Dave,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Now let me tell you what really happened in this transaction.

First of all this customer named Khan contacted our dealership for one full week trying to negotiate the number on the Lamborghini Gallardo, finally after a week we came to a number. Once we agreed on the number then he tells me Owe by the way I am pre approved with Bank of America which will only do business with a factory store.

I told him why did you not tell me this in the beginning because I am not a factory store we can’t do the deal anyway.

So after a week of wasting my time, he then calls me back and says Bank of America just needs to pay a factory store. Do you know any I said yes my friend owns Lamborghini Miami I will call him to see if we can run the car through his store so you can still buy My car. I called my friend and he said no problem you can sell me the car and then we will sell the car to your customer I said great.

But the customer wants to do a PPI which we encourage everyone to get a PPI AND WE DON’T CARE WHO IT IS BUT I EXPLAINED TO THIS CUSTOMER BECAUSE LAMBORGHINI MIAIM IS SELLING HIM THE CAR NOT ME ANYMORE THEY WANT TO DO THE INSPECTION. AFTER ALL THEY ARE THE ONES CONTRACTING WITH KHAN AND BANK OF AMERICA ALL I AM DOING IS WHOLESALE THE CAR TO LAMBORGHINI MIAMI.

NOW I KNOW EVERYONE THAT PLAYS IN THE EXOTIC CAR WORLD SHOULD UNDERSTAND WHY WE WERE TELLING HIM THE CAR HAD TO BE INSPECTED AT LAMBORGHINI MIAMI THERE WAS NOTHING FUNNY GOING ON LAMBORGHINI MIAMI WOULD NOT DO THE DEAL IF THEY COULD NOT INSPECT THE CAR.

I THINK KHAN UNDERSTOOD THIS BUT I AM NOT SURE FROM WHAT I COULD GATHER HE HAS NEVER BOUGHT AN EXOTIC CAR IN HIS LIFE BEFORE. THE CAR WAS INSPECTED AT LAMBORGHINI MIAMI AND EVERYTHING CAME BACK GREAT, EXCEPT TWO MINOR THINGS THEY FOUND WHICH WE HAD THEM FIXED $1000 DOLLARS OR SO.

MY MISTAKE I SHOULD OF KNOWN BETTER WHEN THIS GUY BULL **** ME FOR TWO DAYS ABOUT THE DEPOSIT FORM HE WAS NO GOOD.

I AGREED TO HAVE HIS OTHER INSPECTION GUY LOOK AT IT; I THOUGHT WE HAVE PUT THIS MUCH TIME IN IT LETS FINISH THE DEAL.

DAVE I LOVE THE CHAT ROOMS I WISH THERE WAS ONE FOR US DEALERS TO POST THINGS ON WHEN WE GET LIED TO FROM CUSTOMERS WHICH IS EVERYDAY. OR WHEN CUSTOMER PLAY GAMES WITH US AND DRAG A DEAL OUT FOR TWO WEEKS AND THEN CHANGE THERE MINE. OH I AM SORRY WE HAVE CHANGED OUR MINDS WE ARE NOT BUYING THE CAR. IF THERE WAS A CHAT ROOM FOR THAT THE PSOTS WOULD BE ENDLESS AND FOR THE OTHER NEGATIVE POSTS THEY WERE ALL MADE FINE.

IN FACT THE ONE CUSTOMER JERRY AND HIS PARTNER JUST BOUGH ANOTHER LAMBORGHINI FROM ME LAST WEEK THE ONLY ONE THAT WE HAVE MADE GOOD IS THE POST FROM A EX EMPLOYEES BEST FRIEND AND NEIGHBOR.

THAT POST WAS COMPLETELY A LIE AND WAS POSTED RIGHT AFTER HIS FRIEND WAS LET GO FROM THE DEALERSHIP THERE WERE SOME HARD FEELINGS ON THAT ONE TO MUCH TO GO INTO.
DAVE THIS IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF A CUSTOMER THAT WASTED OR TIME FOR OVER TWO WEEKS AND WE HAD ENOUGH AND CHOSE NOT TO SELL HIM THE CAR. ARE WE NOT ALLOWED TO DO THAT? I MEAN AS A DEALER CANT WE SAY NO TO A CUSTOMER
WE WOULD NOT LIKE TO BUSINESS WITH YOU? I MEAN YOU GUYS HAVE THAT RIGHT AS CONSUMERS WHY CANT WE?

DAVE THE ONLY THING THE CUSTOMER KHAN LOST WAS THE PPI INSPECTION MONEY WE REFUNDED HIS DEPOSIT OF $500 DOLLARS BUT WE LOST $200 DOLLARS IN TOWING THE CAR BACK AND FORTH PLUS THE TWO THINGS THAT WERE MINOR THAT WE FIXED FOR THE CUSTOMER $1000 DOLLARS. SO IN MY MATH WE LOST MORE MONEY THEN HE DID BUT I GUESS THAT IS OKAY WE ARE THE DEALER AND ITS OKAY IF WE GET SCREWED.

DEALERS BE AWARE OF THIS CUSTOMER HE WILL PLAY GAMES WITH YOU WASTE YOUR TIME FOR TWO WEEKS AND COST YOU MONEY. I WISH WE COULD POST THIS ON A CHAT ROOM EVERYTIME A CUSTOMER PLAYS GAMES WITH US. THAT WIOULD BE FUNNY.

THANK YOU DAVE

SCOTT ZANKL

PS IF KAHN SEES THIS KAHN YOU NEED TO GO HIRE AN ATTORNEY TODAY BECAUSE OURS IS COMING AFTER YOU FOR SLANDER.

GOOD LUCK
It's a little choppy, I tried to add some punctuation, but I think we an all get the flavor of Scott's response.

Enjoy,

Dave

"DAVE I LOVE THE CHAT ROOMS I WISH THERE WAS ONE FOR US DEALERS TO POST THINGS ON WHEN WE GET LIED TO FROM CUSTOMERS WHICH IS EVERYDAY. OR WHEN CUSTOMER PLAY GAMES WITH US AND DRAG A DEAL OUT FOR TWO WEEKS AND THEN CHANGE THERE MINE. OH I AM SORRY WE HAVE CHANGED OUR MINDS WE ARE NOT BUYING THE CAR. IF THERE WAS A CHAT ROOM FOR THAT THE PSOTS WOULD BE ENDLESS AND FOR THE OTHER NEGATIVE POSTS THEY WERE ALL MADE FINE."

News Flash: This is a FORUM Scott. Apparently you aren't familiar with today's technology. This is NOT the only place where I've left a review. I'm actually on pace for posting many more. BUYERS have to know what kind of crooks are out there. As a customer, I NEVER played games. I just wanted my product and feel safe. And because of your DISHONESTY, LACK OF COMMUNICATION, and terrible CUSTOMERS SERVICE, I've been SCAMMED.

$500.00

Seems like a high-end Jerry Springer special...but in all seriousness, if Lambo Miami did do the ppi and was trying to scam you, it would take so many of your dollars to take them to court, prove that they lied to you, and then you have a mess. Or for the cost of a second ppi, you can know that you either a) got a healthy vehicle or b) a vehicle to stay sway from.

To be honest, I don't know enough about this company from first hand experience, but if other people have had problems and posted about it (and now you), something is going wrong. And yes, you have a right to post experiences. If this is all fact, you must be able to inform others.

Sorry this is your experience. The positive outcome is that you had a relatively inexpensive lesson, and going forward you'll be a much smarter buyer. You may have also saved others by sharing this information.

Good luck! I look forward to hearing about your great experience buying your dream car.

I have bought several cars from Excell and have subsequently used their services to sell and/or trade same for me. I've found them to be more than fair - but more importantly - they have GREAT CARS.

What are we doing here? We're buying USED CARS, right? I do have the means, yet still do not choose to purchase Murcielago's or LP640's brand-new because it's just not worth it to me take the depreciation hit. But dealing in a used car, even more-so - a used high performance and hyper-exotic car, which by definition means that it will be driven harder and is more of a fringe vehicle than say a Toyota Camry - means that there are fewer of them and they are more prone to mechanical challenges. I have always found that the cars at Excell are better than what one can find out there. Why? Because from what I have gathered, Scott has been in the business a long-time and with a good reputation has earned the trust of other dealers around the country. He only seems to deal in great cars. I have done plenty of legwork in the 60+ cars I have had so far in my life and can tell you that private-party cars, as well as unethical dealer cars, can be an expensive nightmare. Believe what you want original poster, but my conscience is clear and these are the FACTS.

With regard to requiring the PPI being performed at an authorized Lamborghini dealer, that is only reasonable. Think about it: it is THEIR exotic automobile and you can't expect them to allow someone to cart it off to any hole-in-the-wall wrench, perhaps someone who is less-than-experienced with these cars because of the possibility of damage ensuing. I have paid-for several PPI's (Pre-Purchase Inspections) and the standard is that it is always at an authorized (franchised) dealer. And suggesting that Excell would have any sway on the PPI report just because they do business with Lamborghini Miami is absurd, for both of those parties. Selling this one car, just isn't even close to worth it for the risks involved for either.

I happen to own an internet business (not an auto dealer nor selling cars) and have found that some people are just not reasonable online. Oh, that is definitely the case in any retail business - I think the number is something like 5% of the people you deal with will just not be reasonable because they were just cut off in traffic or mama didn't hug them enough as a child, something to that effect. But this is more pronounced online due to the anonymity and non-personal contact of the internet.

Furthermore - you are kidding yourself if you think that this post is going to have any sort of impact on this particular dealer's business. While I'm sure that sites like this as well as LamboPower can boast that they have many thousands of 'members', only a handful post with any regularity and it has been my experience with my internet business that these 'keyboard ninjas' are not worth the hassle of the sale. They don't appreciate the value they are being presented with and are better off rolling the dice in a private sale. I can't begin to tell you how often we hear that someone 'sold the same exact item' via an internet forum for 1/2 the price that we are. What that person does NOT know, is that 10% of our business comes people, who have bought items online that were NOT as-described and they subsequently had to spend even MORE money to procure what they'd originally desired. The items that my business sells are of the same caliber as used exotic cars in that they are not something you see everyday, and like Excell I try to only buy the best - at a good price - and then sell at a great value. Because the items are not in perpetuity, when I smell trouble - or frankly - anyone who doesn't appreciate the value therein, I usually chuck them.

Haters will invariably jump in now and scream croneyism as I just joined to post on this thread. I am doing so to balance out this mob-mentality that I have read thus-far. I do post (occasionally) on the other aforementioned forum.

To the original poster - I wish you well and whatever energies and modest monies you have expended - I recommend you put to wisdom and move on in your search. What are you talking about here, a few hundred bucks? Stop wasting your precious time and move forward with your search. Good luck in finding the car of your dreams.

Thanks Scott Zankl, I mean Howard77 for your excruciatingly long post in order to try to save face for Excell Auto Group. Perhaps your euphemism would be taken more seriously in the 'other forum' as you mentioned. Good day.
Haha, that was the first thing that I was thinking too.

It should be noted that it isn't only forum members who are the ones reading about these experiences. Look at Gvan's thread about the fiasco he had with a dealership http://www.lamborghini-talk.com/vbf...lk.com/vbforum/f4/dealership-crashed-my-car-16811/?highlight=dealership+crashed, 40,000 views on this site alone. That doesn't include all the publicity it received on other forums and news sites like Jalopnik.
