Default First Post and almost new Gallardo owner!

Hey everyone. Just put a deposit on a Black 04 manual car from a private owner. Carfax and vehicle history look great so I’ll fly down, get a PPI and hopefully drive her home. It’s an early vin in the 750’s. Anything specific I should be looking for? Clutch is recent, brakes look good and rear view mirror has been replaced. Thanks!

the interior rear view mirror get replaced because the automatic dimming one sometimes leak the liquid crystal fluid when they get a bit old.
its not a bad thing.

Make sure the headliner isn't drooping down.

It’s not! If it does is that a tough fix? Doesn’t sound difficult.

Check for paint-bubbling (aluminium "rust") in the corners of all exterior and interior body-panels. Quite a lot of pre-LP models get it, and it can be thousands to debubble and respray.

I've seen A LOT of these cars and have never seen any rust. If there is it's a car that was beat and left outside with no garage probably in Canada. That would have to be 1% of cars like this.

I will be taking my 2006 to the auto upholstery shop on Sept 26, 2019 to fix my drooping headliner. The estimate is $275 to $300 USD.

No existing headliner is not Alacantara. I am sure the upholster plans to replace the liner. The existing liner has a backing that is probably still attached to the roof while the liner skin is hanging down. Upholster will know more when he takes it apart. He will give me options on the replacement materials.
