I had a problem with the G.

Started with hard shifting and sometimes it threw the E-Gear warning light on the dash.
Then it went crazy. It won't go into gear, after driving for a while.
When it got into gear it started driving when releasing the brake pedal, just like an automatic car.
Just sometimes there was a crazy sound coming out the engine/transmission.

So I did some diagnosis again.

The computer said, the clutch had 40% life left.
Two error codes were shown.
- P1741. Potentiometer Eingriff
- P1742. Potentiometer Auswahl

I thought the potentiometer went bad. So I checked the wiring. Everything seems to be fine.

I did some transmission recalibration. But it didn't help. Then I saw, that the auto-calibrated clutch position in mm was jumping sometimes. From 19.9mm to 20.3mm, to 20.1mm.
I lifted the car and tried to take a look on the clutch through the little hole in the transmission. It looked not right. Maybe a bit broken.
Took it apart. And voila.

One of the clutch plates was broken loose.

Got a new clutch and the car is driving like new again.

Maybe this helps someone else. Have fun.

Good to hear she's back to her old self. Thanks for posting up the error codes for future reference!
