Hello all
I'm new here, been lurking for a while and reading old thread building my knowledge. I'd like to buy a Manual Gallardo. I've been trying to find out what the difference is between 2006+ cars and 2005 cars, when they have manual transmission. So far I've found that for E-Gear cars, improvements were made to the E-Gear. I have also found anecdotal evidence that 2006+ are less likely to "lead to big bills" but I've no idea why that would be as I cannot seem to find what changes were made. Does anyone know what changes were made that would effect manual cars? Any help appreciated. Thanks |

I believe the gearing was changed in 06 (possibly 05). The transmissions are the same the only difference is the egear has hydraulics operate the shifting mech vs your hand on a manual.
The 04 I drove (manual) had an extremely long 1st gear if I remember correctly. I am pretty sure the big changes were that in 05 the front lift became a standard option and in 06 the gearing of the transmission was changed. |

Thanks very much. I keep reading of "lots of changes" were made in 2006.
But beyond the gearing, and the front lift (thanks for that) what else was there? Or, is that it? Thanks very much |

Thanks @ajpeters that's very helpful.
The gearing I see as an advantage, but the rest are positive options and not items that would "reduce" big bills. I'm guessing whatever work was done to the engine to make it 520, made for a more reliable engine? |

06+ 20hp gain, shorter gears, clear bonnet, suspension upgrade (according to wiki) Biggest difference for me was the shorter gears and clear bonnet was a must! Shorter gears helps a lot taking off and traffic. Clutch bites instantly. Both are amazing and reliable. Also 2006 and below are less sensitive to aftermarket exhaust mods. No CELs |

Just having a look at interiors of 2004 cras compared to slightly later, and they seem a little less luxurious.
There's no "Lambourghini" script above the glove box. There's not shield on the steering wheel It just looks a little less special. Can these retrofitted? Thanks |
