Took off my bonnet for some engine work when I noticed the steel hinge brackets have a square hole. And imo an odd fitting hex head flange bolt.
I found this again for the connection of the fixed cover over the exhaust. Maybe my hardware is not original but the holes are.... Can someone take a pic of their bonnet hinge / screw connection? What kind of hardware do you have?

They are for adjustment/alignment. Pretty standard on a lot of cars.
