Default 2006 Murcielago Roadster speedometer

My speedometer just stopped working, where can I look to see if a wire might have broke or something else is wrong.

You can use a wireless OBD2 and the Dash Command app to see if itís registering a speed at all. That would tell you if the ECU ďknowsĒ the speed and if itís just the gauge, or if itís the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) in the transmission. It could also be the wiring in between those if itís not registering anything, but Iíd bet the sensor failed over the wiring failing.

Look for an ELM327 adapter on Amazon and theyíre like $17 for WiFi, and cheaper for Bluetooth. Then the Dash Command app is $10, but there might even be free apps that will read active signals to the ECU like Speed (not using the phoneís GPS.

Also, does your odometer work while the speedo doesnít?

Did you have any work done on the car recently? A battery change, welding, jump started it, etc?

Prince on this forum had his dash damaged somehow, and that killed his speedometer gauge.

There is a sensor to check on the transmission, but if you had something done to the car right before it failed, I would suspect the gauge itself.

You can change it, It is located on the passenger side, rear on trans toward engine over where the shaft comes thru on the top. Pretty simple
