Default Tint Inspection

I'm new to Charlotte/LKN NC area & have a 2017 Huracan. Unfortunately, my tint is slightly higher than NC allows :-( Does anyone have any recommendations for a place to get it inspected that won't make me remove it to get the inspection ?

All of our tints are too dark...Just wait it out and if you get a ticket, pay it and be on your way. I pay about 1 every 2 years, rarely get stopped and even more rare they ticket me for it

I can't pass inspection to get my tag registration renewed. In NC you have to get it inspected then it gets submitted to the state for your tag renewal.

Go thru inspection then and see if you fail first, then work it out if possible. Talk to the dealer, see who they use.

Do the inspection with the windows down? Pull the fuse/relay so they can't put them up!

NC dealers are weird about this. So much liability. They can lose their license to perform customer inspections, or worse yet, lose their sales license. Most will not risk it. You will likely have to find an independent shop that is “flexible”. Years ago, I found a such a shop to do the inspection on a 700HP 2010 Camaro that was throwing a code. Naturally, that shop does not exist anymore.

One last point to consider, the tint you have might not be too dark. I would have someone look at it first before you worry too much.
