Window Not Auto-Dipping

4092 Views 21 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  AMHParts
I have a 2006 Murci roadster and the driver's side window has stop auto dipping (when in fully up position) from the door latch on the inside and outside of the car. Does anyone know what I can do to start troubleshooting this?

With the door shut Roll the window all the way down....hold for 3 seconds. Then roll it up and hold it for 3 seconds. Should reset the window. If not....try for a little longer.

I tried this and this does not work.
Just as a reference. Since a lot of the car is Audi/vw. I replace a lot of latches on beetle convertibles because of this. Just might not be reading the door switch. Another way to possibly test this, when in the car with it running, does it say your door is open when it is? If it doesn't, then it's either your latch or broken wiring in the door jamb. But I'd be willing to bet its your latch.

This is just going by what I see everyday on other cars. I have a gallardo, so I don't have much reference to a Murci.
I had a similar problem but window wouldn't go down at all

Our mechanic said it was the window module that needs replacing
Does anyone have any other ideas?
try swapping the window module from the other door to confirm micro switches and motor operation.

Is the window module located in the door?
Is the window module located in the door?
No, under center console, below stereo.
My Diablo and mine 02 Murci Share the same window module, I had same issue on my Diablo Roadster, it was a micro switch thats mounts right above door latches(Pn 006137288), just looking at Murci parts, looks like there is one there also Pn:417959875A, good luck!
if the module is shared, can the connectors be swapped from left to right?

Did you ever find a resolution to this? Mine is doing the exact same thing and I'm curious if it was a switch in the door or ended up being the controller under the center console.
Ditto... anyone ever find out what happened. Bumping for a possible solution. I will continue searching other threads as well.
Were there ever any updates on this topic?

Would also love an update. Thanks for asking!
I've had this issue on my 2009, drivers side only. After removing the door panel, I noticed that the dip switch on the outside door lever wasn't making full contact. The interior door was similar so all I had to do was adjust the position of the dip switches and it started working. The switches themselves are very basic and their placement is rudimentary. If I recall they are held in place with two 3mm screws and nuts that are held onto a bracket, which has some adjustability.
Ultimately, you won't know until you tear into it and start looking around. Hope this helps!

Houston, we have a problem.. just kidding.

That is very helpful. One question for you, are they fairly easy to access? I've had the door panels off a few times and it seems as though getting to the handle area could be challenging. Could you better describe where it's located, near the rear of the door, by where the B-pillar would be or near the top of the door, by the actual handle itself? I've never heard of a dip switch. I wonder if we could get a part number so we'd have an idea of what it looks like and possibly a schematic of where it sits.. I wonder if Glenn @AMHParts could possibly help us with this...

Thanks again!

Lol. I'm having a heck of a time remembering on the switch for the exterior door (it's been a few years) but it is inside and near the door handle itself. The switch for the interior door handle is a bit easier to access and I'm attaching some photos of it for reference.
Again, in my scenario, there was nothing wrong with the switches. They were just not making full contact. And given their simplicity, would be reticent to pointing them at fault barring having shorted out internally from corrosion.

To clarify, there are 2 switches... one for the interior door handle and one for the exterior so when you are entering the car or exiting from the inside the window does the same thing, right?

My door is doing it all the time (entry & exit) so I'm curious if you thought based on your experience if it could be both switches? It would be odd that both are out of adjustment but possible I'm guessing. Thanks for any insight.

I tagged Glenn from AMH and texted him as well to see if he could help us.

Cheers!
I’m not sure but I think if it’s part of the inner portion door handle that piece is discontinued. I’ll try and see what I can find on this one.
