Said I was going 65 in a 50. After a little more chit chat. He kinda stood there, and I knew he didn't want to give me a ticket, he said I'm just going to give you a verbal warning this time, so I got out, opened the engine bay, and he flipped out. We talked about the TLC TV special and the car in general. Funny, first time I ever felt comfortable talking to the police. He was real cool. I've heard sometimes you'll get pulled over just so they'll have stories to tell their buddies, and it happened. He actually thanked me for letting me look at the car! :). I laughed all the way home.

hey that happened to me last night!!! the cop said i was doing 58 in a 25. he turned out to be the nicest cop i've ever met. the other times i've been pulled over the cops have just about been yelling at me but this guy was talking to me like I was one of his old buddies. I had a friend in the car with me and he was stunned that we had just gotten away with just a verbal warning. It was really funny.

If it's a CHP Motorcycle Cop.

I wouldn't give them the time of day. Frickin Gestapo Stormtroopers.

The pricks hide behind bushes, sighs, trucks ect. Every one that I have ever encountered is on such a power trip.

I'd love to take the pricks billyclub and snack him upside the frickin head.

Them SOB's define the term "Highway Robbery".

I generally do not have issue with honest law enforcement and traffic patrol.

Ya think this is a sore spot? I'd cherish a chance to conduct a demolition derby with them in my brothers Peterbuilt.

I'm sugarcoating this. And of course this is MHO.

On my way to last years ROTB, I also got pull over. The two officers just checked out my car, ask for my registration/insurance and thanked me for my time. I was glad he did not cite me for no front license plate and tinted windows. He could've also cited me for going 50+ on a 35 zone.

Sometimes we do get the breaks.

I got pulled over when I was home last week. I was in Hoboken and had stopped about three feet forward of the stop line, as I debated pulling through the intersection or waiting until the next light. I was on my cell phone though, so I thought it might be for that. Luckily you cannot see into a Jalpa from behind. He opened with you know you are blocking the box and pretty much ended the police put there. He asked me what kind of car it was, was it real, etc. etc. After about 7 minutes he let me go without anything. Nice guy, but I was all ready late to meet some people.

Being in the military also helps. I have not gotten a ticket for a few years now.

I am with Larry on this one. I got pulled over a month ago for an hour and forty-five minutes for no front plate!!! What a ridiculous waste of my time. It felt like a town photoshoot, everyone that drove by seemed to take a picture.
There are a few goods one but mostly all are A-HOLES. IMO...

Latest Example

I'm just starting to drive to Concorso Italiano (8/13) in Monterey, CA from San Jose. The route takes me over highway 17 to Santa Cruz. The speed limit is 65 until just west of Los Gatos when the "freeway" turns to a "highway" it's now a 50 zone. The CHP Motorcycle prick is actually hiding just out of view, right behind the very first sign that now indicates 50 mph limit. We actually see the prick whip out the radar gun, I have my V1 on, with zero indication of any radar. In the rear view we see him now in pursuit, as he powers up his lights behind me, I pull off. As he is actually walking up to me I can see him writing in the ticket book.

Bottom line: He picked me out and YES, all the traffic surrounding me was moving at the same speed. Also, my V1 works perfectly.

He walks up, 1st thing he says is "I clocked you doing 65 in this 50 zone AND you have no front plate. I said very politely, officer I have my plate here but my car overheats with it mounted. He says" everybody else in California has to have on....and so do you. After he releases me to go, he gets back on the highway and not 1/4 mile down the road the PRICK already has another victim.

I suspect this dude was the kind that beats his wife & kids as well.

All true!

There is a very good reason why cops are cops. The only way they are going to get attention is in a uniform. The odd one is cool, the rest a bunch of idiots on power trips who work for a division of the tax department on wheels.
I just came back from Europe and travelled through Italy,Germany,France and Switzerland at an average speed of 200km/hr.In 2 weeks came across 1 cop car in Germany and we went by him at 260k.What a pleasure.
The idiots here will tell you that speed kills.I guess 65 in a 50 zone is reckless.
Mind you it is easier to get off a ticket in a Lamborghini than in any other car i have owned.Seems to me the awe factor works sometimes

I got pulled over the other night doing 75 in a 45 and thought I was gonna get nailed with a ticket but somehow got off with a warning. I think it's the fact that I haven't had a ticket yet that he let me off with. I was freaking out though because he walked up, saw the stripes, the interior lighting, heard the stereo and saw the mesh.... all I was thinking was "great, so now he probably wants to give me a ticket" but ended being really nice and just let me off with a warning.
