The only reason I can think of as to why it might be bad, is if there’s additives in it. Maybe those additives might degrade over time????

not too sure what I would do. Use it on less expensive cars???

Never ever use mineral oil in Diablo, full synthetic oil only!
Synthetic oil actually holds better inside engine and it is urban myth that syntechic oil leaks through seals.
infact, I can not think any engine that works better with mineral oil.

If anyone haave problem with oil leaking to sparkplug hole, change cam cover gasget, that is what gasget does, it seals oil leaks, if not change it.
Original gasget was without any sealant and I do not use any silicone on cam cover gaskets.

If one was to transition to full synthetic, is that a simple matter of doing an oil change to new oil? Or does one need to evacuate all oil reservoirs and do other non standard procedures?

I always heard to fully change over, you change it once then run it... Then change it again.

I assume you mean to run it to operating temperature, then change it again.
