Hello Everyone,

Sorry if this is repetitive for those who read the Gallardo forum as well. VelocityAP is a manufacturing brand of performance exhaust systems, headers, ECU Tuning & Suspension components.

We have been offering this Huracan exhaust lineup for a couple o years now, and have designed a modular system whereby the center portion of the exhaust will fit up to a 2008 Audi R8 V8, right up to a 2017 Huracan. All 3 center sections are dimensionally identical in terms of mounting points and end points, so by interchanging the tip sections, can be fit to any one of these cars. R8Talk.com has a pretty large following of people who have bought & fitted our systems with some great reviews.

Our 'Race' setup is for those who want minimalism. Loudest sound, highest pitch and lowest weight:

Our next system is the Supersport. This is your 'Goldilocks Porridge' setup - louder but not too crazy. This is comparable in sound level to resonated XPipe setups. The muffler we use is actually constructed with an internal XPipe, so looks inside just like the Race System, only with a very small amount of perforated tube just to round out the sound a little bit and take the edge off: Lamborghini LP550, LP560, LP570 Stainless Steel Exhaust 'Sport' Sound Level

Finally, we offer a Valvetronic option, which is your double stack!

The 'Race' Xpipe system, with our 'Touring' muffler stacked on top. The Touring muffler features the same internal construction as the 'Supersport' but has he maximum amount of perforation & silencing in addition to the internal XPipe. This system sounds just like the Race when the valves are open, and is pretty close to stock sound levels when closed:

And finally, some numbers. We take our exhaust development pretty seriously. Our philosophy dictates that functionality and minimalism come first, so that we don't end up adding a bunch of unnecessary things which just increase cost without making a better, stronger or better sounding product.

Included in that is how to pick the low hanging performance fruit and get you the most bang for your buck. A part of that analysis often includes flow bench testing. As my friend who flows heads for a living likes to say: "Air does some weird s**t. And it doesn't always do what you think it will.

So for these 3 systems, we built a plenum to hook them up to the flowbench and analyze the results.

Some interesting data came through. The OEM exhausts are actually pretty well set up in terms of flow rate when the valves are open, but lose almost 50% flow when the valves are closed. Flow data only tells part of the picture, it doesn't give you data on low RPM or mid-range torque, or acoustical properties but it does give you a picture of your maximum flow rates.

How our exhausts stacked up versus OEM:

Race vs. OEM 'Open': +8.62%

Supersport vs. OEM 'Open': +1.03%

Valved 'Open' vs. OEM 'Open': +2.24%

Valved 'Closed' vs. OEM 'Closed': +26.10%

So the conclusion is that all our exhausts have higher flow rates than the OEM systems, with the biggest gains being the 'Race' system as expected, and Closed vs. Closed.

Now interestingly, we had a customer who wanted us to alter the design of the Valvetronic system, believing two things:

1. That the 'Y' between the two air flows was compromising 'Open' flow.
2. That the XPipe was also compromising flow.

We built a custom system, which featured a 'T' connection to the muffler inlets, and had 2 x U-Pipes rather than the XPipe. The results are shown on the Flow Bench chart as the 'Test' system.

As you can see, not only was 'Closed' Flow lower, but 'Open' flow was decreased as well! Interesting results.

A couple of videos just sent to us of our customer's Supercharged Huracan running the VelocityAP Valvetronic setup, with valves in the 'Open' position:

I know that customer^^^^. Friend of mines. He and I have the same supercharger systems. He needs to join this forum if he's not already a member. I'll ask him.

Nice! Yes he should join up, he drives his car a lot and I think people would enjoy seeing it in action.

He has a set of our springs as well, not sure if they installed yet. We made a set for him in our prototype run.

Hey guys! Yes! Kratos and I speak often. Stuart builds me go fast goodies. Good to see you both link up.
Racerlambo - looks like Alex has enjoyed having your car in the shop. Sounds like the springs are installed, hoping to put together a photo shoot.

Hi, I have one on my car and love it, it sounds amazing and I get compliments all the time. Only thing I can say, constructive critism...I think it should be a one piece exhaust, not 3...I feel like you guys could make some sort of jig that would make them all perfect fit like the stock one..

Glad to hear you love it! We've considered making 1 piece, and it's not totally off the table, but we have a few other considerations we think about as well.

The 3 piece packs down much smaller dimensionally, cutting down on shipping cost and ultimately the price that the customer pays.

We also produce 3 different versions - Race, Supersport and Valved. The center sections for them are dimensionally identical so that the tip sets (R8 2008-2013, R8 Facelift, R8 2017-on, LP560, Huracan) for each specific vehicle are interchangeable. It allows us to have multiple employees working on the same thing at once (one making tips and one exhausts) and also means that the inventory we carry will work across more vehicles.

Since we have 3 different sound levels, 5 different tip sets, if we wanted to make one of every single combination of sound level + vehicle fitment we would have to make 15 different systems. This way, we can make 3 different center sections & 5 different tip sets.

Not that any of that necessarily affects the customer experience, but it does make a big difference from a business point of view.

Wanted to thank you all again for your continued patronage. We have ramped up production on these systems quite significantly to keep up with demand.

Just received this video from a happy customer who previously fitted a different aftermarket system and was underwhelmed with the sound. Now at half the price, he's over the moon with the VelocityAP Race setup.

Lightest, loudest and highest pitched setup out there!

Some updated pics to share of our valved system for the R8 and Lambo platform. We have been making this system at our factory in Canada for over 5 years now . Lots of little adjustments over the years but our lost recent one incorporates a teardrop shaped muffler to clear the anti roll bar in a more clean way, and a revised muffler design. We changed the muffler internals to increase the silencing when the valves are closed. A common observation on many valved aftermarket systems is there is not a pronounced difference in volume between open and closed, so we have addressed this with our new design.
