My SA said they saw the perf. The only difference is the carbon. They feel the S is going to now be the one everyone wants. They said visually that’s the only difference you can really see and he said it not worth the harder ride. If you really wAnt the carbon then yes. You need the perf. Now , if I can just get that perf spoiler added
Must admit the air suspension for road use makes a lot more sense

I have a feeling SA's are finding out at the dealer meeting the Perf is all but sold out so they're going to start pushing the S on clients.

For me personally I already have a U so jumping into the S doesn't make sense. I'd rather buy the Perf because it'll be rarer and I like the new wheels, carbon hood, akrapovic exhaust and the aggressive stance you get from the fixed springs. I'll see what my SA tells me when he gets back but I have a feeling the U Perf is the the next Tecnica, dealers have taken deposits but allocations will be hard to come by.

And remember the S/Perf will have about a year or so production run before the hybrid arrives and according to Winkelmann's latest interview the hybrid will be the only model for sale in 2024 so time is ticking.

I would agree that as Perf orders are sold out mentioning the S is a better option helps with getting clients in. I think they are both fab but I am Perf all the way.

They prob will push it. I sold mine. So I don’t have that at all right now .

My main factors why I want the S.

Air suspension
Interior color options.

I’m doing the akro exhaust on it. Had it on my 21 and felt it’s needed. I am the next allocation for a perf if I want it. It’s just to similar. I was hoping it would have more HP and be more aggressive then the S. I guess they really did a nice job with the S. My dealer said carbon is the major issue. As others have said.

Going to finalize it in the next 2 days. Afraid to pass up an allocation. Honestly I wasn’t expecting the emailing today

it’s a tough call. Both are great vehicles. I would lie if I said I wasn’t confused. If the perf allocation came though first I would be grabbing that right now. I don’t think you can go wrong either way in my opinion.

I agree, you can't go wrong with the S or a Perf. It's not like dealers are giving away S allocations so smart move to pounce on the offer.

my dealer told me the akrapovic on the Perf sounded different from the current urus with akrapovic .. i would like that.
Based on what?! Because dealer said it sounded different. LOL. I don’t understand the logic some people base their conclusions on. So many people rationalize their reasons solely based on “because that’s what I’M getting”.

I think a difference in the exhaust note would distinguish it a bit from the "regular" version, that's it. i don't need it, but i think it's always nice when the different versions also sound a bit different, don't you?

Maybe the S will sound the same as the Perf.
I don't think so, as the S has the standard exhaust and not the akrapovic.
But tbh, i would never pay for the akrapovic, as the difference is there but too small. i would have prefered a cheaper base price and the akrapovic as an option .. but they needed the weight savings for promotion reasons i guess.

I had the akro on my 21 and I’m gettting it on my S. Everyone has there own opinion on it. Personally I can’t not have it. I’ve seen ones without next to me and personally I like the tone a lot better. Is it worth 14k? Prob not. Still getting it since I like it better. Now I decided not to go with a 14k paint tho.

That's absolutley understandable. Personal preference!
Me, on the current Urus, i prefere the stock exhaust ...

I don't know why 'thomba' seemed to get so mad at me with his previous post .. but like you, i would be happy with a new / different tone, just for me in comparison to the current akrapovic and not the stock exhaust. It's a new model, a new sound note would be cool.

Here's what my SA texted me from Rome...

"Factory is very coy about whether or not the Urus S and Performante are "sold out" but we were informed the factory will not have enough carbon parts and have no plans to produce more because the hybrid will be a redesign which means Performante production will be short and limited and likelihood of carbon becoming available for the S is slim to none. There was also talk about possible shortage with interior carbon. Tbh it doesn't bode well for the Performante allocations so a lot of dealers are trying to sure up Urus S allocations which are going fast. S without carbon will be the best bet atm"

This is why I locked mine in. With the carbon shortage, no S will have any exterior carbon for the year. Honestly if I really want carbon, I can always add it afterwards. Who knows, they could have an issue with the perf. To me , the perf is all about the carbon. Without , I wouldn’t get it. Regardless, both will be sought after. I personally don’t want a plug in urus. Who knows , maybe I’ll change my mind later on. If they came out ( doubt it ) with a v12. I would hop on that right away.
