Fun thought: Revuelto SV will translate to superfast scrambled eggs. 😄
It would be very hard for a 4.0L V8 NA to deliver more than the current 630 - 640HP before adding electrification.Revuelto can also translate to mixed. I suspect it's that play on words because of the hybride drivetrain.
Just to be sure, when we say V8, it's a V8TT correct? Not NA?
Its going to be interesting. The new Corvette E-Ray does 0-60 in 2.5 seconds and costs $100k. The new H replacement will likely be $200k+ more than a Corvette. Lamborghini is going to have to make something really special now to compete with the performance numbers of this new market of electric and hybrid cars. A supercar is suppose to be a car that can achieve performance stats that other cheaper cars could not achieve. This is why its a supercar. What is the definition of a supercar now? Is it just the name brand and maybe a different, more exotic look? It sucks, and is all going to get just crazy. It would be very hard for a 4.0L V8 NA to deliver more than the current 630 - 640HP before adding electrification.
The same 4.0L that AUDI, Porsche and Lambo use
Yes, its been thrown around here for some time that the H replacement should be about 800hp. 0-60 times should be around 2.5 seconds. No idea what it will sound like though. Definitely cant sound like the NA V10i guess the e-motor will be the same as the AVR, so around 200hp. so together with the ~600hp V8TT i guess we will get a 800+hp strong huracan successor with capabilities of up to 900hp or more .. but they still have to leave a big enough gap to the AVR ...
A NAV10 with 640hp + the ~200hp e-motor would have been perfect 😢
That is where it is headed, especially if all cars are completely electric. Its going to be interesting. The new Corvette E-Ray does 0-60 in 2.5 seconds and costs $100k. Well yes and no... the Dodge Demon / hellcat I believe is faster than a Huracan and AV in 0-60 and 1/4 mile but...That is where it is headed, especially if all cars are completely electric.
Big manufacturers had an advantage in building good ICE powered (super) cars, given their decades of experience.
But the technology behind electric cars is so simple, every (chinese) manufacturer can build a cheap but extermly powerful electric car.
So in the future the only part we pay for is the brand name and design, not the 0-60 time or technology. Basically exactly like with other non-car luxury brands. A rolex is less accurate than a swatch, still we pay the premium .. just for the brand name.
No matter what amazing prestanda they can push out of a random brand it can never compete with the passion, history and iconic brands we all feel forWell yes and no... the Dodge Demon / hellcat I believe is faster than a Huracan and AV in 0-60 and 1/4 mile but...
The way I see it, yes the Chinese can make a high powered electric motor and make a car that can do a fast 0-60 and maybe 1/4 mile like the tesla but will it be able to race around a track, will it have a lightweight carbon body, carbon brakes, lightweight battery tech giving it 50/50 weight distribution with a low centre of gravity etc etc
I think that's where we are heading but as far as I'm concerned even if they have great tech I will never buy an expensive electric car for the reasons you have stated...to me the heart and emotion of the car is it's engine and sound and that will die with electric cars...![]()
I agree with you, I love my Huracan Spyder but after having a loaded early production Corvette C8 for $80k while my Huracan was $285k... it's really hard to justify the price delta. I can't imagine how much the Huracan Spyder replacement will be, likely $375k+ with a good amount of options is my assumption. I'm personally lusting after a Z06-Z07 for street/track use. If it's holding its own with supercars for ~150k, it's too good of a value to not put one in the garage for a few years through a recession. Its going to be interesting. The reason I'm not pursuing the Z06-Z07 at this stage even though it is beautiful is because getting a used H might be easier(if prices ever come back down to earth). The dealer is asking 10K deposit and wait time is 5-10 years! By that time I bet it will no longer be in production, plus the price tag is around +- 200K CAD. Last it looks too much like the base C8.I agree with you, I love my Huracan Spyder but after having a loaded early production Corvette C8 for $80k while my Huracan was $285k... it's really hard to justify the price delta. Luckily I received my dealers 2nd allocation for the 2020 C8 and will receive their 2nd for the Z06, both at MSRP. Like any desirable car right now, if you can buy at sticker, I'm all about it...over MSRP, I don't play those games. The reason I'm not pursuing the Z06-Z07 at this stage even though it is beautiful is because getting a used H might be easier(if prices ever come back down to earth). I agree with all your points. Definitely too much like a base C8 for sure. Will be an excellent performer for the money. And in no way would I ever put down a deposit and wait 5 years plus for a Chevrolet... And yes, the H, even being an 7 year old platform, STILL makes the C8 look bad/dated if you sit them side by side. No comparison. The reason I'm not pursuing the Z06-Z07 at this stage even though it is beautiful is because getting a used H might be easier(if prices ever come back down to earth).
