Lamborghini S.p.a prepare special camouflage and will start tests with the new platform on public roads in 2023 Q2-Q3.I believe at the same time will came out new spyshots around. At the moment there are 10 cars in the factory, but still in development with different problems
I recall you were adamant about it using a V8TT when we speculated about it keeping the V10. I don’t see you responding anymore to the V10 rumours :)

I’ve been speculating just like everyone else without any personal insights beyond what I read in these forums and available publications. You’re clearly well connected to the factory so the forum members and myself look to you for occasional hints. I was merely remarking that the idea of a V10 was essentially dead this summer but now has life again…. and no one here seems to be outright denying it anymore.

No other manufacturer will offer a V10 and V12 naturally aspirated lineup which is big news if Lamborghini pulls it off. My sense now is that the V10 will be the new V12 with 2 less cylinders. An all-new modular engine platform.

What I find interesting is how they could pivot from a V6 or V8 TT to a V10 so late in the project. I can only imagine how different the packaging and cooling requirements are between those different types of engine architectures. Normally this would be decided early on which makes me wonder if the chassis is being designed to accommodate both a V6/V8TT and a V10?

I would be shocked if it ended up being a V10. After all this talk about V8 TT and last of the V10.

If you think about it, the biggest rival already dropped to v6 for the entry level car. There is no need for Lambo to develop 2 new engines (v10 and v12) + hybrid system at the same time. It makes zero financial sense and also unnecessary from a competition point of view. Especially when they have a perfectly good and road approved V8 TT. They will also need to get the v8 + hybrid version approved for the hybrid Urus. Make more sense to keep the same engine for urus and H replacement, add hybrid and get approved and use for both cars.

With Ferrari using V6 for the entry car and V8 for their midrange (baby hyper car) SF90. Lambo will stand alone with a V8 in the 300-400k Supercar segment
The V10 and V12 could very well be the ‘same’ engine aside from the difference in cylinder count. It would not be a full duplication of development effort and cost if they are able to share a common base architecture. Same goes for the hybrid system which will likely utilize the components and software developed in parallel for Porsche, Audi etc. I can imagine both cars will use a common axial flux e-motor in the rear and that the Aventador 2.0 could also apply front axle motors (similar to the hybrid differentiation we see on the SF90/296). It’s probably reasonable to assume both models will also share a transmission.

$100 on V8 TT
I'd take that bet as I still believe in the V10 story. The question is also whether it will be a full hybrid (like the new Aventador appears to be) or a MHEV (mild hybrid) and then what is the architecture type (P0 - P4)? We'll know better once the first prototypes are spotted with or without an electric shock warning decal.

yeah, but where will they counter the added hybrid weight with the huracan? i think the A approach is too costly ..
A mild hybrid system such as P0 (belt) weighs much less. If it is a P0 system, the alternator would be replaced by an MGU (motor generator unit) and the belt drive system upgraded to accommodate the belt sometimes being driven/boosted by the MGU (vs crankshaft). No additional electrical machines are added, only swapped. The battery would also be smaller vs a full hybrid/PHEV as expected on the A replacement.

It could also be a P1 - 4.

well we know the weight the new system adds to the A, assuming it's similar for the H, some other weight needs to go .. no way around it.
But it won't be a similar weight increase for the H if it uses a mild hybrid solution, it will be a smaller increase. I don't see a way to offset it unless they decide to share the A's carbon tub with the H. Actually, this wouldn't surprise me at all because it sounds like a) the H will no longer share a platform with the R8 b) carbon tech has come down in cost and c) they would realize economies of scale (shared development cost, tooling, high combined volume etc). The H replacement could then also have scissor doors :)

Huracan replacement should debut by Quail 2024. Huracan production ends early next year.

Lambo8888 is referring to the other stuff I believe. Urus Ibrido, Revuelto derivitives and so on. 4th model, 2+2 GT EV debuts in 2028.
Interesting that the Huracan will end production months before the new car is even revealed. I suppose they’ll try to crank out as many Revueltos as possible to fill in the sales gap in 2024.
