SV or Ultimae or SVJ?

I'm looking to get an Ultimae but was curious on the value in the future. With 350 coupes made and 250 roadster, it does seem pretty low in production units vs the SV 500/500 and SVJ 900/800. I don't like how I can't easily remove the rear hatch on the SVJ and I always like the SV more. So it is between the SV and Ultimae. The four wheel steering is a big reason why I am considering the Ultimae. I've lost a lot of money from depreciation from my past other cars so this is why the value is my question. I was going to get the SF90 but the front headlight design is just too ugly for me the stomach.

Hi Folks, new to the forum as I'm on the lookout for an AV as well. Though I'm deciding between the S and the SV (coupes, I'm not a roadster guy). I'm more depreciation sensitive than price sensitive so curious if any of you have any advice based on the current market conditions. I'm a bit concerned the S will take a bigger hit than the SV the coming year or so, or shouldn't there be much difference between the two?

Just purely on the basis that SV is made in limited numbers (500 coupes and 400 convertibles) where as S is mass produced, and it's traditionally marked as the flagship model of the range in terms of weight, performance, and looks (admittedly SVJ and Ultimae trade above SV from this regards) then I would chose the SV over the S. But there's no free lunch, SV trades higher than an S for these reasons. If you look after your cars, don't get into accidents, maintain well with perfect service history, then your SV shouldn't depreciate (and has higher chance of appreciating than the S). Just my two cents, others here may disagree.

If you want one as an investment? Special models like the SV, SVJ and Ultimate will always demand much more than the standard models because of the exclusiveness
Looks at the other models such as the Gallardo SL compared to an LP or the Perf compared to the 610/570/Evo etc

That makes sense. There is indeed a price difference but between the S and SV I’m looking at there is less than 30k difference in price. SV is 2015 and S is 2018 while the S has done 5k km’s more. S does come with Lamborghini warranty but the SV will get an official dealer service on purchase.. my gut tells me the SV is a better option. But I also realise I’m lacking in knowledge…

I do not necessarily see these cars as an investment but like to limit my downward risk. I also don’t drive these cars very much (done 2-3k km’s annually on my 720s) so won’t be doing tonnes of miles…

I would always chose SV over S. The year it was produced doesn't really make a huge difference although it does in some case, just like colour / spec combination all of these effect how in demand a car is, but generally speaking it's numbers produced (supply) and mileage on the clock (main driver of demand) when it comes to trying to figure out what the long term value of these cars are.

ok that makes sense. The SV is arancio atlas and has 18k km’s on the clock while the S has 24k km’s and is in grigio estoque and a middle of the road spec I would say. I still have to understand the history of the SV more as it’s a 3 owner car…

Both nice colours, and mileage is not that different. It's not unusual to have multiple owners on the SV. It's an exclusive car so likely was flipped quite early in the mileage for a profit. Just make sure the service history is perfect and always been done with lamborghini approved workshops. I would go with the SV even if it's a little older.

Thanks for that advice! On my way now for a test drive in the AVS… will be first time driving one..
Testdrive in the AVS left me a bit underwhelmed for some reason. Special looks for sure but mis some wow in the interior (a bit bland). Drove an EVO RWS with Akrapovic right after and that drives better (which is expected) and dare I say sounds more intense. V12 a full revs sounds fantastic but for some reason expected more… should I expect something different from an SV?

Of course, SV sounds better and feels much more raw.

Hey folks, hope to get some more opinions. The particular SV I am looking at was originally sold in Germany and 2 years later sold to the president of the Qatar Racing Club in Doha. Car came back to Europe in 2020. I did notice that the car was not serviced at the dealership while in Doha. It was again when back in Europe. Assume that would be a red flag to run away? Even if at a significantly lower price? Would that prohibit it ever getting an official warranty again?

I did find an AVS that was over 100k cheaper than the SV with good service record and low mileage which might be a better choice until I can pony up to a a better SV or SVJ. The ones available are simply out of my price range.

Ask your local authorised lamborghini dealer to do a full inspection on the car and if they would provide warranty against it. You might have to pay a EUR 800 fee for the service but worth it imo.

yeah I would be happy to pay that (can you even get a dealer warranty on a 7-8 year old car?). My concern with a car like this is more future value and sellability… or as long as it checks out technically and hence the dealer can give a warranty against it it should be ok?
Spoke to my local dealer. He was not concerned that the car had spent a few years in the middle east. More important than as that it was an originally European delivered car and has a full service history (the car was fully serviced at the official Lamborghini dealer in Doha I just found out!). Also he thought 2 year warranty could potentially be put back on the car but I’m talking to the after sales manager tomorrow to confirm… SV might be coming after all…
