Sorry about the ongoing problems.

Is there an internal short in the harness somewhere? A loose, untraceable, connection?

What's the going rate on a new engine harness? And what is the process involved? Engine out?

Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Not my thread but I need a new engine harness too. They’re $6500, my mechanic is charging around $2000 for labor so it couldn’t be an engine out. Apparently this is a common problem for 2014 Aventadors, not sure if it applies to other years.

Not sure exactly what's happening. The dealership sent a bunch of diagnostic information to the factory and that was Lamborghini's recommendation. I was told that heat can cause wiring harness attachments to lose connection and that the early cars were especially prone to this issue.

The dealership quoted about 14k for the work.

However, member @Guinii just responded, saying it is a $6500 part and 2K labor. I just searched, and seems parts range from about $5K to $10K. Seems like the typical scenario where it would be best to source the part yourself and go to an independent mechanic.

This thread matches my experience, and there's discussion of cost in this thread as well:

Between 8K and 15K.

I ultimately decided to move on from my 2012 Aventador and picked up a 2022 Grigio Lynx STO. I miss the brutal shifts, the doors, and the sound of my Aventador, but I decided I wanted something more modern, hassle-free, and under warranty :)

I'll share photos soon.

Thank you sir!

For future reference, for a 2014 USA Roadster the part number is 470971072A, cost at bullstuff is $5,404.

And from the looks of it, it looks pretty easy to replace/install. It looks to live inside the top of the V of the engine.

I hope I never need it!
