I always preferred leather seats and my 2015 Huracan was first car I had with alcantara seats. When I sold it in 2019 with 13k miles the alcantara portions still looked new, only wear was wrinkling on leather bolsters. That sold me on sticking with alcantara seats

I think OP's leather seat problem is quite the extreme. Unfortunately, I doubt any of us will ever get a perfect car, though, I hope Lamborghini comes through with an acceptable solution for OP.
Yes, that’s really unfortunate for OP. That’s why my previous Huracan had race seats. I do not like how the leather can wear out. You see lots of leather wear, especially on Urus…even on demos with very low miles.

I guess there are the Leather and Alcantara camps and I have made no bones about my preference but, one thing is true, in the case of the STO what's a man to do? I had the choice of Alcantara or Alcantara and I wrestled with that dilemma for about a nano-second. :giggle:

My 2013 458 has leather Daytona seats, 33k miles, and is heavily tracked. The leather seats are in better condition than all the above pics, I’m sorry to say.

Too embarrassed to post, don’t want to start any more wars (the world has enough).

But seriously, the wear on these seat pictures is simply astounding. I shall never do leather in any future Lamborghini except a steering wheel.

No war but Leather verses Alcantara a debate that will rage on for some time to come.

Ok then, I’m happy to jump on that one because it’s not my first time to the rodeo and I’ve learned a thing or two. The true and accurate response is ………both.

The F is all leather. It’s a bit overwhelming. The STO is full alcantara. It’s mostly great. My biggest gripe is the steering wheel. There should’ve been a leather option. Nothing feels or wears better. Again, not to start things, but the wheel on the 458 looks brand smacking new. Multiple owners, 9 year old car, 33k miles.

I know the STO won’t wear nearly that well. Gloves or not.

And actually, I had the ‘full leather option’ in a Porsche, I thought it was nicely done, but in truth it wasn’t all leather, just Porsche’s interpretation of it.

I don’t know but i assume ferrari uses better leather ....but then again ferrari has other issues
sticky buttons ,rubber molding around windows poor material, some corosion because dissimilars metals
cracking manifolds in f430....also there bad quality batteries....just my opinion.
All brands have there weak points and maybe vw group uses a cheaper leather.

Lamborghini NA Customer Service contacted me and said that the factory has approved the replacement of both seats as they agree they are both have the leather defects. They have since found the root cause and implemented the corrective action. I'm really impressed with the Lamborghini customer service and how they're handling the situation. I did express my concern about the potential risk that the leather will wear much worse than any of my previous Porsches and asked if they could configure it with the Alcantara inserts.

I was pretty confident Lamborghini would come through based upon my past experience. Great!

After reading this thread i went out to the garage and looked at seats.....my drivers seat looked liked this and my car has around 150 miles
I spoke to Lamborghini customer service about the way they transport their cars. I said they need to use a thermoformed cover that goes on each of the seat bottoms, this will help distribute the weight of the careless people that drive them around during transport. My side bolsters were pretty broken down for having under 40 miles on it. Its a shame the people that drive them at the factory/transport don't take better care of getting in/out. We'll see if they take my suggestion and run with it

Many of the drivers are climbing in and out the window in the transport saga. Certainly not optimal to have people standing on the seats............hopefully, when they do they weigh less than 300lbs.

Guaranteed they step on the seats that is what causes the wrinkles.
U would think they would have a special cover as kotkyb said....simple solution and no damage.
