I purchased my new 2022 Huracan EVO RWD Spyder about two weeks ago, didn't even get a chance to drive it as I sent it to my film shop for full Xpel and tint via flat bed trailer. Upon picking up my car today, I noticed the driver seat had a damaged bottom surface and very worn bolsters. After looking back at the photos from the purchase date, the car had defective lower portions of the seat and worn bolsters. I honestly overlooked it as I was so ecstatic about the purchase and the tow truck was waiting while I was signing the paperwork. I'm really disappointed with the leather condition with only 41 miles on the car and for a $280k MSRP, I would have expected more out of Lamborghini's quality team. I'm going to escalate this to Lamborghini NA as I don't understand how the seat passed the Lamborghini outgoing quality control. I'm mostly concerned with the bottom seat surface that looks wrinkled and crusty but the beat up side bolsters do bother me too. I've had many new Porsches that are shipped with the same method and the seats look flawless upon arrival.

Thoughts or am I being too OCD? If others have pictures of their seats, please post them with the miles on your car.

* UPDATE APRIL 7 2022 *
Lamborghini approved the Leather/Alcantara configuration for my driver and passenger seat replacement! Wait time is likely 4-6 months, which is fine with me, as long as the issue is resolved. Lamborghini's customer service acted swiftly and I'm very happy with the resolution to the issue.

The seats finally arrived from Italy and during the 1st year service, they were able to get them installed. The seats look awesome and I'm super happy with the customers service from Lamborghini.

I don't think you are over the top at all. You have nice things and want them to stay nice and not be messed up before you even get to enjoy the car. If the car was several years old, that would be a different story. Nobody will take care of your car better than you. That's fact

I think someone else posted a similar situation a few months back. Another reason I’m looking forward to alcantara but a good reminder to ask the installers to be careful!!

I had Alcantara in my GT4 and with the hot summers here I knew I'd sweat my ass off in those seats but now I'm kinda kicking myself for issues like this... the shop thinks they can work their magic but if you feel the leather, its stretched/wrinkled and I highly doubt will go back to the way they were when I dropped the car off. Even the bolsters looked great, it looks like someone was standing on them.

Dang! I didn’t notice the bolsters initially. That’s not good. As for seat heat, isn’t leather worse in a Spyder that’s sitting in the sun? That can tear up a hamstring or two!!

* I EDITED THE ORIGINAL POST AS MY SHOP DID NOT DAMAGE THE SEATS *

After looking back at the pictures on the purchase date, the seats came in this condition from the factory.... I can't believe how worn the seats are without my ass even sitting in teh car one time! My Porsches NEVER had leather seats that looked like this from the factory, how careless are the transportation people.... oh wait, we do know. I'm escaping this to the Lamborghini NA marketing manager, if they ask how I'd like it resolved, I'd like Lamborghini to replace the lower seat leather surfaces which is doable by the dealer or a leather shop, if that's too hard just send me a new seat, I'll ship this one back to them.

Looks like the factory who mounted these didn't give a crap when they stitched it up. I hope they listen to you and ship replacement seats.

I noticed many Lambos have have wrinkled leather seats. I wonder if most Lambos are like that? The majority of car now have faux leather and don't have the issue of wrinkles.

No chance in hell the factory will send a new seat or replace that leather. I had a friend who had a LP700 delivered in the wrong leather colour and it took the dealer over a year to get replacement seats and interior trim.

The likely outcome will be the dealer getting an upholstery shop to see if they can steam out the wrinkles.

I sure wouldn’t accept that if it was my car. That’s ridiculous, those seat shouldn’t have a single wrinkle in them. For what you paid I would demand satisfaction one way or another.

I’m going to escalate this til it’s resolved, I would expect this on a Corvette but no, that car was in fantastic shape, this is a $280k MSRP car, it’s unacceptable

It makes sense they will not want to replace them since it already passed their quality control. I wouldn't be surprised if they said you are getting real leather and real leather isn't perfect. I hope you get a resolution from this.

1LT and 2LT Corvette C7 seats (my seats below) use Mulan Leather. So far so good over 70 000km seat time in them.
3LT seat use Napa leather.

Last picture is a Ferrari 458, belongs to an employer whom I worked for 25 years ago.

OP, firstly sorry to see that lack of attention to detail on the part of the factory, and I have to think that your situation is somewhat of an outlier. I had 3 Huracans, one with Comfort Seats and two with Sport Seats and they all looked perfect or at least if there were/are defects they were/are not perceptible. After seeing your seats I went into the garage and looked at my current EVO and the leather Sports Seats look pristine and that is after 5 months of frequent use. I would start with your dealership and if they are not responsive I would escalate the issue to Lamborghini Customer Care. These are challenging times but I suspect Lamborghini will do the right thing, heck, they replaced my 2021 EVO without much effort.
Please keep us posted and good luck!

Is there a possibility that Lamborghini has switched to a lower grade leather?

Aston Martin had always sourced their leathers from Bridge of Weir in Scotland. The leather is thick, sumptuous, and the smell sublime. All made from Scottish bulls.

Recent reports however have suggested that Aston is now using a leather of less quality.

I’m sure one of the resident experts can see if Lamborghini has done the same.

I don't think you are being to OCD, while leather seats after some time will get that look no way should be like this when brand new. I have said a couple times the reason I have gone with alcantara is I do believe with proper care it stays looking better than leather over time. Also after owning a 488 that did have leather seats found the quality of them well above Lamborghini. Lamborghini leather is more on par with Audi leather

When I ship my cars I only use enclosed carriers with a side door. This side door allows the drivers to enter the car normally via the cars door versus climbing through the window and causing inevitable damage.

Is there a possibility that your carrier did not have a side door and repeated stepping on the seat created the wrinkle issue?

Just a thought.

I don’t think it’s anything to do with the quality of the leather, but more of the installation or glue down of specific location points. That kind of wrinkling typically takes years.

I saw many cars in Italy and Germany with seats like yours, even worse with(5000-6000km).The true is that the quality of the leather is horrible, and I never owned and recommend seats without alcantara in this model.Very sorry for you, you need to have a conservation with your dealership
