Hi all

We are undergoing a full restoration on an Espada, the shell is completely bare other than the ZF steering box which we are struggling to remove.

Has anyone managed to remove one before, if so, how? and does anyone have pictures of it removed?

we have tried all sorts but it seems the shaft of the steering box is seized into the chassis

Thanks!

Hey Mitch-first off, a quick note: this forum is not very populated. The vintagelamborghini.com forum has a little more activity, which is critical for tech support, haha! If you have an S3 with a factory ZF steering box, the actual box itself is welded to the frame. It won't remove. The internals, however, can be removed. Ironically, I came here for help on my S3 steering box as well, haha. Good luck. Also, a quick note...the seals for this are apparently impossible to find through either ZF or Lamborghini. I believe I am going to have to have them fabricated, sadly. If you remove the seals, DO NOT throw away the old seals; you may need them to create a template for fabrication. Welcome to the wild world of vintage lamborghini restoration....
