Those of you who de-catted, do you regret it in any way? Too loud?

Any feedback will govern if I entertain cars with de-cats.

Hey pal. My buddies A is decatted with Capristo exhaust. It sounds insane. Its very F1 like but it is stupid loud. He lives 1 mile from me and there are probably 20 rows of 80 ft tall trees between our houses. He can start his car in his driveway and when he revs it up I can easily hear it from my house. I love the sound of his car though but it is obnoxious. LOL. When hes not WOT throttle it just sounds like a normal loud exotic but at WOT its like the demons from hell being unleashed. lol If you PM me your Ph number I can text you a couple vids I have of his car.

That's what I was afraid of. I like loud but not the obnoxious kind. Cold starting in your neighborhood will be undoable in early mornings.

I'll PM you my number.
Ozzir, I have always thought that the exhaust can never be too loud, but I haven't heard your friends either.
If my buddy goes by me on the highway and my top is down and he flies by at full somg it literally hurts your ears. Like painfull loud. Its great from a distance but piercing when youre close.
Too loud can be annoying, especially in traffic with the tops off, unless of course you can control the valves to mute when required. But in full flight the full exhaust sound is manna from heaven...Lol!
Yeah that does sound like too much.
I had a Viper like that. It had full headers on it, no cats and straight pipes. It wasn't that high pitched scream like the Lambos but it was so insanely loud I had to add the mufflers back on. It was nuts. Id go by people and you could see the pain in their faces because it was so loud. That was too much..LOL.

With a decat, you get more flames and can have a Lamborghini barbecue. Flames never get old, especially at night.

Flames are super cool. Suburban neighbors....not so much. Lol
I ran cat delete with capristo in my 17 roadster. Sound was great. Capristo allows you to close the valves so it wasn’t too loud when closed and kept at low rpm.

I had an early allocation 17 roadster. At that time, they did not have a sound tune from Lambo so there was a cel. My options were to ignore the cel or put the stock system on. I returned the car to stock and sold it. Would never drive that car with cats after hearing catless.

Some people like yourself have a high tolerance for loudness. I want my exhaust to reflect the beast underneath at a red light revving contest, but I don't want to be obnoxious either. Lol
Such a fine balance.
Think a lot depends on the "acoustics" of the noise, not always the number of decibels. There is beautiful noise and ugly noise. Good singers and bad singers. Lennon vs. Bieber. Church bells vs. decatted motorbikes.

An excellent point!
Call me weird & maybe I'm the only one, but I'm fine the stock exhaust. It has the whoosh at low RPM and enough exhaust note roar volume at the higher RPM. The pops are steady on downshifts and coasting in a higher gear it's a continuous pops and gurgles.
I went with the valves disconnected for a few months and it was just too darn loud all the time, especially in traffic with tops off.

Is aftermarket exhaust still louder than stock, even if you don't de-cat?

This is a great point! There's volume and then there's tone. Most of the time getting more volume doesn't mean getting great tone.
Do you only get the F1 sound with decatting?

No way, mine sounds like that with the valves open...
Your neighbors will love you, lol! Decatted is definitely fun, especially if you're into a much more F1 style sound, and want some flames for show. But it can definitely be too much for some. For the fun factor and sound, I definitely approve. But proceed with caution
Aventador with the Capristo catless setup is glorious! Loud with lots of popping on decel.
