Official 2004 Gallardo Oil Check Procedure Per Lamborghini

Take a minute and read the original oil check sticker in my engine bay which makes no sense to me. Feel free to decode this Itallenglish-ish nomenclature.

I have seen some videos saying to just check it at a fuel stop, etc. At that point the oil would be too hot and out of range. Looks like this is the only way to check it correctly. Can anyone dechiper some of these strange sentences that were more then likely jargoned up when translated.

1. Check engine oil temperature at 80 degees plus or minus 10 degrees. 80 degrees converted to farenheight is 176.

2. Not sure what they mean by " 2000 rpm a minute. of 50 sec" assuming they mean run it for 1:50 at 2000 rpms

3. Switch off the engine and check level within 1'. What do they mean 1foot? Im assuming its a typo and they mean 1 minute.

I would assume the oil change is like any other man made car…

bring engine up too operating temperature
Stop engine
Drain oil
Fill oil until 1 quart short of full
Bring engine up to operating temperature
Check oil
Keep filling until full
Get the car upto temperature. Aka a decent drive out.
Park it on somewhere flat.
Put your foot on the gas and hold it at 2000rpm for 1 minute.
Turn off engine and immediately check the oil level.

I suggest wearing heat resistant gloves.

Does anyone else have 3 dots on their dipstick?
Depending how you drive the car you either fill it to the second or 3rd dot.

If you drive it on trackdays or very hard, then the middle dot max. If you drive it normally then anywhere between the second and 3rd dot is fine.
To check the oil level :

Temperature needs to be 80 +- 10 (Probably Celsius)
Rev the engine at 2000 rpm for 50 seconds
Turn off the engine
Check the oil level, it should be within the minimum and maximum markings (difference is one inch)

In most cars the difference in the min and max marks is 1 Litre capacity

My physician said it’s nothing to worry about… unless the dots start moving in an erratic manner.

Here's a sanity test to make sure.

Edgar, do yourself a favor and read on this forum after doing a search for this very issue. It has been covered many times. I must absolutely stress that this is a dry sump system and you cannot assume that if the oil is slightly below the bottom hole that that means 1 quart low. The oil has to be checked at 80°C plus or -10°C. The engineer recommends running the car at 2000 RPMs for 50 seconds and then shutting off the engine and checking the oil within one minute of the engine being shut off. The oil needs to be between the two dots. It is NOT linear below the two dots, meaning this type of oil dipstick needs to be checked multiple times to make sure that the oil is between those dots. Fill a little bit at a time and recheck a little bit at a time and recheck a little bit at a time and recheck until the oil is in between the dots.

Also note that these cars are designed to burn approximately 1 quart of oil per 650 miles, or 1 L per thousand kilometers. This is normal. This also requires you to check multiple times, regularly. frankly, in my opinion, this is the Achilles heel of the pre-LP cars — it is very easy to overfill the oil resulting in hydro lock and a blown engine.
