Thank you...I found the OBD port in front of the gas pedal and up high. Have to be contortionist to get to it but I did.

Even though the e-gear would not go in any gear. I did not get any codes. Why would that be? I am using an UTEL diagnostic unit that does very well so that I would have thought some code would have popped up. I am beginning to believe that the 2-inch oil drop under the middle of the car (if inside the car and looking straight down where the gear shift lever would be) is the e-gear green oil. Possibly an accumulator leaking?
Another problem is getting under the car...the underside panels make a side lift impossible; the front only would seem easiest...any suggestions on how to lift the car so I can get under there to see where the oil is coming from? I have a large scissors floor lift but that cannot be used to lift the car according to Lambo.

With reference to the e-gear to 6 speed ....in my opinion, it is the only solution to a very poor design hydraulic system (e-gear). Drift Works (You Tube) has accomplished as well as many others successfully and the reward is unmeasurable.

The brake lights do work. Thanks very much for the lift points but I need to get the entire car off the ground using a floor jack. My lift will not bridge as noted; strictly scissors high lift but no lift points for Lambo.
Where can one jack up the entire front end? Maybe lifting from side will do it.

I was told "All Things Motors" and " FS Garage " have converted the Murci also. I have not checked into those at this point.

I am presently working with a gentleman(garage) in the Phoenixville, Pa area that seems to be very knowledgeable and may be of some assistance.

My scissors lift does not allow use of extended arms that is required on the rear (inboard) on the Murci. I believe a bridge will work on the lift, but the manufacturer does not make them.

I did trace the oil leak to the green fluid /e-gear. The reservoir was low, so I topped it up. I then achieved neutral and first. After bleeding the e-gear (side of trans three screws) I can get up to 4th with the key on, engine not running. Therefore, I believe that the problem is a leak, most likely the accumulator as failure.

I will not repair this at this point. I am working with a few others on getting rid of the e-gear once and for all with a change to manual 6 speed. Once removed, I will sell the e-gear (when repaired and sorted). Always a market for a $15-20,000 bit. I will stay on this thread to advise on my progress. To say it cannot be done, is incorrect and is not as complicated as thought (all of our combined thinking.... may live to regret it!!

I am in contact with a gentleman that is local to the Pa area that seems to be very knowledgeable and is owner of a highly rated exotic auto shop that confirms the electronics are somewhat unclear. He is researching the wiring to better determine the actual changes that need to occur. I like this gentleman because he speaks facts, not conjecture. As I move forward, I will keep all informed. I am very serious about swapping the e-gear out. Hopefully, once accomplished under the expertise of this gentleman and his shop, many more can breathe easier and have it done. Some of the parts, such as the shift gate, if necessary, will be machined if not available. I am also in contact with an engineer in Oregon that is also very keen on the project.

I have been following the posts with keen interest. Many good ideas but no action. What will it take to have group of us get together and get this done? The reward of sheer ownership of driving should repay all. The electronics are well above my understanding.... get cut or wounded...I can help!! I have written to the factory; they say they cannot support the effort at all but do say that they will sell the needed parts via their dealer network. So much for that.

Think of the possibilities: Start an entire business based upon carbon fiber cloned parts...could do all Lambo, Ferrari, Maserati...etc.; do all Lambos as aftermarket ..the sheer price increases in the manuals retail would be appealing less the absence of the major manufacturers now , past and the future; last , the shops that look to specialty repairs at current rates per hour that alone should be conducive to finding a solution. I am conversing with a carbon fiber manufacturer that believes the CF could be even better than that originally supplied by the OEMs. What is needed is the original parts as cloning basis.....they can replicate rapidity and accurately. Own the equipment and a new business entity is formed.

What I implied was that for those pieces that are needed to replicate the OEM parts, if wanted such as the shift tower. I am aware of others that have modified the tunnel, for example, adding a door for access. All of that should be completed to be sure to hold the costs to a minimum. I would CF : the shift tower, the shift lever and knob, the linkage bar (as on DRIFTWORKS -UK). The other components can remain as is with possibly only modifications such as the pedal box. The entire box can be replicated also but the addition of the third pedal and bushings seems well within the scope of a good shop.

Not knowing very much about electronics, does it make sense that the electronics can be reflashed to cooperate with the removal of the e-gear? The rear brake lights, the shift, etc. on the dash.... all should be able to be reflashed . If Lambo made the 6-speed manual, they should know. Does anyone have contact at plant that can help explain?
The changeover should not affect the plant at all .... these are all older autos that need the change.

Hey Stimpy...you may be on to the solution to the headache. Once done, after getting the costs for the new OEM parts from Lambo plant at $61,000 (they included the $38,000 for the transmission replacement for some reason) the carbon fiber option is looking much better.
ow is a list of parts I could come up with that I'd imagine you would need for the conversion. Again, since we haven't done something like this in house, I don't have the exact list of parts needed.

My understanding and as witness "Driftworks" video on you tube, they are generic and can be retrofitted. The third pedal is also shown as a brake pedal cut down and refitted as a clutch pedal. I suppose that having the OEM parts as you request can be accomplished, it adds severely to the final price.

I have also heard from a third supplier in Italy.....approx. 10-15 % less than the original quote; supposedly all OEM factory direct.

@RobH yes and thx! All doable but the $$$$$ keep mounting. I just read a 6 spd factory sold for $940,000 in the EU! Not confirmed but really wild # and, if converted, personal pleasure, not investment, should prevail. I think that all $$$$ invested would return plus 2x at least or more at any given time.

I am seeing values for OEM 6 speed Murcies selling for nearly $1MM!!!! Assuming that the value of a conversion is $50-70,000 on the very high side......why not? Much more enjoyment and, no doubt ROI is months, not years and is very, very attractive with resell.

That said, is that why the Lambo factory is hesitating on supplying the assistance? I am personally very disappointed in the factory response. They should be pleased to work with us and see that we are future Lambo buyers and supporters.

We are sitting in 16-degree temps in the NE. My cars have been winterized and as such, the Murcie has not been run in about 6 weeks. On Sunday, I got in the garage to start it and leave it warm up because of the down time, the car refused to go into gear. Stuck in 1st gear as this is the gear of choice when at rest. I had to go through a number of dry run shifts, engine off to finally get it to shift. After a call to Lambo of NJ, I was told that this is normal for all e-gear autos. They asked if i checked the oil; I had, and it was at the top line ( hydro oil ). The joy of e-gear???? Just another reason for me to get the manual in here.
