New limited edition Lamborghini coming out, it'll be a modern version of the Countach

I heard from my dealer that Lambo will be showing a limited edition (around a 100) car which will be a modern version of the Countach. It'll be based on the Aventador but look like a modern Countach. The car is to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the Countach. Price will be similar to the Sian, not sure when they'll be showing the car. My guess is Quail which is still on but we shall see.

Confirmed...

Lamborghini will reveal two new models powered by its V12 engine this year, as it aims to continue its growth after recording its second-best year of annual sales in 2020.

While no official details of the two V12 products have been released, new Lamborghini boss Stephan Winkelmann told Autocar that one of the machines would feature the electrified supercapacitor system featured on the Sian FKP 37 hypercar. Autocar understands that model is likely to be another limited-run special.

Wait.. TWO new V12 models? What's the second one besides this Countach special edition? Possibly an Aventador SVR final edition with 800hp plus 34hp from the supercapacitor? Maybe even going RWD for this one to save weight? Are both V12 cars going to be $1M+ with only <100 units produced?

Since only one of the two will have the Sian powertrain a Roadster version of that limited Countach edition is out of question I think so it has to be something else?

The article says "two further new products, based on the iconic V12". My guess is one would be part of the Aventador Series so continuing on from Aventador S, SVJ etc. and the other would be the 'Aventador-Countach' which will be drastically different to the former. Countach has me more excited if that's the case.

I've heard they'll be a final edition Aventador based on the SVJ but there's no other details.

My guess is they might launch both cars at Quail because as of today Quail is still a go and looks like travel restrictions into the US will be lifting in the coming months. It'll be the last horray for the Aventador platform before the replacement is announced.

What about the Aventador replacement? OTW agree Countach special edition and final edition AV slotted above SVJ.

Nice if so revealed in the summer. See event details, The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering | The Peninsula Signature Events
The replacement is the biggest ? right now. I've asked my dealer, no clue. I asked my contacts at the factory, no comment. The various news articles floating around on the net indicate a 2022 launch but it seems like 2023 is more realistic seeing how the two limited edition V12's will keep the V12 line running next year.

It's beyond me how VW botched the A replacement. You would think the V12 flagship would be somewhat a priority to keep up with the rivals but nope. So far Lambo has been able to milk the Aventador platform but dealers are getting restless, they need a new flagship V12 model to make money.

Actually I’d like to throw this out there... instead of a continued Series of Aventador they do an STO of it like the Huracán STO alongside the Countach. Which is more likely this or the quoted passage?

You might be right because I have heard that the final Aventador will be the lightest Aventador produced so this is inline with a STO version of the Aventador.
To be honest both possible variants (SVR model above SVJ and Aventador STO) sound equally as exciting. I do hope that car will be somewhat available to us mortals that aren't able to spend $3M+ on it haha. Another important question would be if these two new V12 products will be fitted with a GPF or not. Any guesses?

As it sounds like the Av replacement is set to be released late next year or 2023 at latest. Winkelmann mentioned in the interview that this year will be "a moment of stabilisation" before Lamborghini "pushes things to the next level" in 2022 so my guess is that means Urus facelift/hybrid + Aventador hybrid replacement next year.

Huracán STO has been very well received so it would make sense to do an Aventador version of it. It'll still be an Aventador. The Countach should be more different than the Aventador STO is to the Aventador, stylistically and aesthetically.
Yup, it would make sense to produce an Aventador STO. Maybe they'll produce 500(?) cars and have a MSRP slightly higher than the SVJ roadster.

I don't think the "new" models will get GPF because the production numbers will be very low. That said, EVOs and I assume SVJ's shipped to China have GPF.

And next level is code word for "we need some time to catch to meet new emission regulations". The days of the NA engine is nearing the end and it seems like Lamborghini is the last holdout before they're literally forced to switch to hybridization.

The other issue for Lamborghini is China is becoming a huge market for them, they reckon it'll be the second largest market after the US. The issue with China is not only are they aiming get rid of most gas powered engines by 2030 but before they can reach that goal they're increasing the tax on high displacement engines. So if Lambo wants to be competitive and increase sales in China they need to go hybrid.

GPF?
Heck if they don’t come with floor mats, count me out!

My question is whether electric assist will occur with this generation or not. Ferrari has already gone this route SF90 and McLaren Artura soon to follow.
Does anyone here own a Lamborghini Sián? How does the hybrid compare to the Aventador or it's spin-offs?
exciting stuff would be interesting to see how this turns out. Bugatti was very successful with their centodieci

Why r Bugatti whips more expensive than Lambos n F-Cars?

I guess "I want to" doesn't count, and of course even if I could, that would probably be the last straw in my marriage.
^^Funny, I was going to comment a couple of days ago that give Russ 6 months to a year and I am sure he will get one..........
