I heard from my dealer that Lambo will be showing a limited edition (around a 100) car which will be a modern version of the Countach. It'll be based on the Aventador but look like a modern Countach. The car is to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the Countach. Price will be similar to the Sian, not sure when they'll be showing the car. My guess is Quail which is still on but we shall see.

That sounds incredible, a modern day Countach would be really exciting, but with that limited to 100 units it will probably be out of reach to us ordinary buyers. I would love to hear more about it.

Something to look forward to.

Maybe we can pool our weekly allowance and buy one as a group? I’ll drive it on Friday’s and Saturdays, you guys can have the other days.

One more thing, don’t let the spouse know. It’ll be our man cave secret!

So I guess you will have to move to Hawaii then?

Damn I was always thinking of the possibility of a modernized Countach. Sucks that it's that exclusive, if it was slightly above SVJ Roadster - level pricing I would seriously consider it. The Countach is such an iconic car but unfortunately is near impossible to drive compared to modern cars. Really looking forward to the re-designed modern look!

I wil believe it when I see it
Hate to be the negative nelly, very very doubtful.
Yeah, I kind of feel the same way, but it sure would be neat if it were to come about.

I’ve always subscribed to the theory “never meet your heroes”. If they designed a modern Countach on an Aventador frame something tells me I would be quite disappointed. Stick with modern or go back to Countach, but don’t do both.

That goes with what OP said, 100 units:

I dunno...Ford did an amazing job with 05/06 GT. Just the right balance of homage and modern enhancement. If Lamborghini sticks the landing, the car could be quite special.

To me that just looks like a regular old Aventador with a slightly different rear bumper. Would love to see a drastically different style mimic attempt at the Countach if they're actually going to do it, particularly if it's going to be some multi-million dollar, 100 production units type of thing. The Sian is based on the Aventador too and looks a lot different than an Aventador with special badges on the side. But perhaps this will simply be another special edition trim for the Aventador that is still in the SVJ price range.

It's highly unlikely but I'm really hoping for something like this that keeps the essence of the original while modernizing the car slightly. One can only dream.

Since Ferrari is also planning to come out with a limited F40 Icona special edition car a modernized Countach would fit perfectly into that trend.

So skeptical, but hopeful. Not likely in my price range, but one can dream and enjoy staring at it.
The vehicle in the article is uninspiring for the name/badge Countach.

They had a “Muira” edition of the Aventador and it was ho hum, in my opinion, a two-tone paint color and other small features but nothing dramatic. But, if they do to it what the pictures show that Almdudler posted above, it would be breathtaking.

Yes, it does look pretty cool, but just looks like an Aventador with some upgrades.
