My LP550-2 coupe was produced in July 2013, it is a 2014 model year (per registration, sticker, etc.). I bought it in 2016 from Lamborghini Newport Beach. Over the years I have always assumed it was simply an LP 550-2, but I have never figured out what the “SC” plate by drivers side window means. I assume those letters stand for Squadra Corsa but that seems like a different/special version of the Gallardo. I have looked high and low on the internet and this forum and can’t figure out the significance of this plate. Anyone know if the presence of this “SC” plate in my car means anything special..? Thanks for any info you have, or ideas on how to find out.

Thats the 50th anniversary badge... it does look like the alphabet "SC" though.

Every car produced in 2013 have that badge except the Anniversary cars which have a similar but different badge.

Thank you very much Coupe07 and Tomaso, boy do I feel dumb for being way off there. I just read through the separate thread on 50th badges, very interesting. Sounds like nothing particularly special. It would have really made my day if it just so happened that I was unknowingly sitting on a super rare version... Thanks again for the quick replies and your help!

Most of us had to learn about the badging for the cars built in 2013. You are not the first to be confused.

Your car is not rare but actually somewhat uncommon. Only around 500 LP550-2 cars were produced.

Thank you for that Tomaso. I really appreciate the info. I had looked previously for info on how many LP550-2's were made, but it didn't seem that simple and sort of gave up, so that is awesome to know it is around 500. Thanks again.

That's the 50 years badge. Every car produced in 2013 has it, celebrating the 50 years of Lamborghini, but it is not the 50th anniversary edition (that one says Edizione Limitada "Limited Edition") ..

Technically, the "50 Badge" should belong to 2013 cars only but for some reason they just used it for all cars produced in 2013 (including 2014 cars).

For example, mine is a 2013 but it was produced on 10/12 and it doesn't have it even though it is a Final Edition Gallardo. Therefore I made my own badge, cooler than the "50"

If it was produced in /2013 then in comes like that from factory but even if it didn’t, you can buy the badge for around $309. That’s why I made my own, lol

Yup. My “final edition” MY2013 does not have the badge either.

I was tempted to buy it but $300 for the “50” badge and the fact that you have to punch holes to mount it is what made me decide to just make my own and mount it with tape haha
