Recently purchased 08 murci roadster, balloon white. Found out after delivery that the car has an upgraded exhaust system with straight pipes. Initial reaction was "Sick! just got a $3k present.." but after driving the car for more than 20 min my head is POUNDING. I know most people would say I'm crazy and that's part of the essence of a Murcielago - but it's insanely loud and I would like to drive the car more often.

Any suggestions or ideas on what to do?

What kind of system do you have? Most offer a "sport muffler" option in place of the straight pipes.

invoice says:

"light weight stainless Supercar Specialists exhaust system ceramic coated with polished coating"

"ceramic coated Murci exhaust system, ceramic coated secondary cat pipes, all necc hardware"

If you can get a picture of the exhaust toward the back of the engine, about where the drive belts are.

That would let us know if you have primary cats in or not.

That is one big ass exhaust pipe, but why is it going into the wall??

U could get a Larini rear section. If the primary cats, secondary cats are out try putting in a set of cats

I don't have them - was hoping with this post someone might offer to do a swap and upgrade their exhaust ....

Yeah, the answer is to start putting stuff back in....or go with a more mild exhast like a Tubi.
