LP manual conversion

Any good leads on places that will do a manual conversion on an LP? Pickings are slim. Shaking all trees before I spend way too much money. I've reached out to several places with no response. :(
Thanks!

Talk to stoyan79 on this forum. He has an excellent converted LP spyder and may be able to connect you with who did the work. OR sell your egear car and buy his LP manual spyder. That's got to be the easiest route.
Drew Zee on this forum recently converted his pre-LP to manual and it looks top-notch. Talk to him about who did it.

Can get it done for you but it’s now going to be around $25k. How long have you had the car?
Honestly, I said I would never get an E gear car, I said I will only have gated and nothing else. After I found the car I wanted, in the exact color/interior combination I got a Egear car planning to manual swap it. Well, I ate my words after I got used to it, I absolutely loved it! Just another thought. If you still want to do it, call/text me 717-319-2100

Exact SAME feeling here.
I still have an old-school Mustang in the garage w/ a stickshift and it's a far better car to beat the snot out of when I get the urge..............

If I was in the market for a Silver vert, Stoyans car would be in my garage.... ;)

I messaged you through FB......conversation fell off so.... I assumed it was a no go.
Well, getting closer. Someone actually responded to an inquiry! No one mentioned in this thread sadly. Also never done an LP and on the other side of the county, but a definite honest option.
Now continued research on parts....I thought someone had posted a list of parts and numbers somewhere but I'm horrible at searching. Was that a thing, or am I imagining it?

About a year ago I remember something too, but upon further research I ran into discrepancies with part # interchange from Pre-LP to LP. The list was for Pre-LP and there was enough doubt generated that some of the LP parts were different that I thought it was too much of a gamble to pursue it further. Someone needed to document the actual necessary parts for the LP. I had asked Stoyan but he bought the car that way and could not offer specific advice. Obviously it's been done, but no one who has done it has been willing to step forward and divulge that information. I'd hate to invest in a $5000 part here or there and ultimately end up not having all the necessary components. I gave up and am just happy I still have some kind of stick car to beat on...................

I may be mistaken (it's certainly happened enough in the past) but I think L Dallas may have done a conversion awhile back. They obviously would have used OEM components and the work would have been done by L certified technicians. That would have to be a plus for any future resale consideration. Might be worth a phone call.

Yep, think DIY is too much a gamble on this one..... they got you if you want it bad enough accept the $25k price tag and get it done with no reservations or doubts. I wouldn't hesitate to go to Lambo Dallas given their reputation and it might help they were the original selling Dealer of my car...... I'd love to ship it down there and get it done but just not on the priority list right now and see how this weird market thing plays out.

.....not sure what that means. I responded to your last post! I do appreciate the conversation up until this point though!!

Never thought of going to a dealer..... Might be an option!

I think DIY is out, I could handle the mechanical side, but I have no way to fix the programming. I have accepted the price tag. It is what it is, and to me it is worth it.

Good to hear, Do keep us posted on the process. I'm definitely into the possibility, too much in the plans for 2022 but next season I'll be back on this quest ❗❗

I've grown to love the hammer of WOT, no lift to shift, full boost e-gear shifts.

That said, I was finding myself missing having a manual car as well.

My solution was to add an EvoMS stage 4 6-speed Porsche 911 Turbo (996), put the $25k towards that in my opinion.

I see your point. I bought my car in the color I wanted, the interior combination I wanted and then was going to convert it to a gated shifter because I can get all the parts at cost and it wouldn’t be a problem for me to do it. But, but, after I mastered E-Gear, it has made me absolutely love it to the point where I am not going to convert it now. Just some food for thought

I agree with the posters that initially were not totally in favour of e-gear before they used it. I came from a gated 2006 Gallardo ( a clutch saver) to the 2011 LP 560-4 e-gear and I am now sold on it. For my gated thrills I drive the XKE roadster :D
cheers,

I understand all of your points.
I drove a 2012 Superleggera a few years ago. It was fun and exciting but it was one of the least rewarding driving experiences I've ever experienced, considering the car I was in was so spectacular.
I will fully accept that I'm in the minority of people who want a gated manual over an egear.
I'm older than the average owner here and have a different definition of what I enjoy in a driving experience. Picture me standing on a front lawn shaking a rake.
I have a 2010 Exige with a manual and it is stupid fun. My wife's trackhawk, is a solid 'meh' with the paddles and auto, even with the violent hp.

I must be in the same minority group as yourself. Gated car is a must and to me the driving experience is amazing. Especially if it’s gated and has twin turbos.

Converting an LP is a great idea or even holding out for one to come up for sale. It will happen eventually. I sure would like to find someone willing to sell an LP560-2 50th anniversary car.. would be a great addition to the stable.

Call L Charlotte. They had 12692 2013 LP550-2 listed as coming in on consignment last summer. It's not Anniversary but it is RWD. The ad ran for awhile but when I called they said the car never came in. Maybe it's still available. Let us know if you find out anything.
