Hey all,

Just wanted to let you know that I bought one of these from "CartersFly" on eBay. Its great folks!!!!!

It is way better then the Silhouette schematic that we have used for years.

The only items that are included on this one (that are not on a stock Jalpa), is the wiring for a turbo he had put on, and a MSD ignition. Other than those two items (and their associated items, like a turbo boost gauge, etc.) It is a very nice indeed.

The quality is very, VERY good! $149.00 was a bit steep, but it sure beats what I've had to live with for the last 2 years!

Mike any chance of you going to Office depot or another place and having them scan it in in large format. I have the one from Rezdoc, but it is the Silhouette one.

Then you can post it here or send it to Raymond to post to the Jalpa Site.

Thanks,
David

David:

Was thinking of doing that very thing.

This schematic is in a large format. I would say that it is about 1/2 the size of the ones we got from REZDOC for the Silhouette. So, the print is nice and large and easy to read, but not so huge as to be cumbersome. I'm guessing that its about 36" x 48".

What I was going to do first is clean it up by removing the wiring areas most of us Jalpa owners don't have on our cars (Turbo, an engine mounted fan, turbo oil pressure switch, turbo boost gauge, etc..).

After I cleaned it up, I was going to make a copy and also have it scanned to disk, so I could actually minipuate it in a program such as Visio, Powerpoint, etc...

I'lll keep you posted.

Oh yeah... one last thing I forgot to mention.

This schematic shows the MSD ignition box (and associated Tach adapter), so I wanted to correct that as well, to reflect our Bosch units which would also be the same for the folks that have converted to PermaTune, since that box uses the same connector.

I went out last night to compare the wire colors on this schematic to what is on my car, and its amazing how similar it is. Way, WAY closer then the Silhouette diagram!!!

It also appears whoever made up this schematic also added one more radiator fan (probably to cope with the extra heat generated by the Turbocharger that was installed).

No Problem.

In fact, I dropped it off today at Kinko's to have 2 copies made, and to have it scanned to disk.

Should be ready for me tomorrow morning.

JRV,

I am sure Mike will. The "protected" area of Raymonds site has things that Lamborghini SPA would not want in the open for free... free being the key word. Even though they will not and have not published a wiring diagram, and engine workshop manual they want you to pay through the nose from a few select book dealers for photo copies. This way everyone wins.

And... speaking of a Jalpa engine manual, has anyone got their hands on one yet??????

I remember poor Raymond seeing one in Switzerland someplace, but the shop would not let him have it to make copies.

According to REZDOC on eBay, he has some notes on the Jalpa when he used to work at the factory back in the 80's and he was going to put something together eventually. I'll touch bases with him again and see where he is at with that...

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reminder! I just sent a copy to Raymond so that he could post it on the Jalpa.ch protected website.

As I told him in the e-mail that accompanied it, I scanned it to CD, and edited it in PhotoShop to fix the following:

1. Removed the MSD Ignition wiring and added back the Bosch Electronic Ignition Unit
2. Removed all the "Turbo" wiring (i.e turbo gauge, warning lights, boost pressure light, extra radiator fan, etc..)
3. Added missing rear trunk and rear engine bay lights
4. Fixed the incorrectly drawn Fuse #1 and Fuse #2 wiring (original was backwards)
5. Added the missing rear fog lamps
6. Added missing REV Limiter

I didn't bother changing the wire colors, since they vary from car to car. But, at least this schematic is more accurate than the Silhouette diagram we've had to use! hahaha...

It's added as a link to the Tif-Image on the Menu.

I'll try to make it a little smaller without compromising the visability later this evening, dinner is calling...

I converted it to Gif-Format which brought it down from 1,3 megs to 330Kb with the same quality...

Lampeg Electronico

Can I get one of you guys to snap a few pix

Electronic bulb? It located on the relay panel by the main fuse box

It looks to be larger rthan the Bosch relays, mine is missing :(

Tav 8 # 14 - 006714079

has a ref: 9800019

It appears to be the flasher unit for the turn signals & emergency, I suppose.

I'm hoping that I can get a replacement.

thx,

This bigger relais on the left top is the emergency/turn signals relais, it's not Bosch.
I remember somebody asked me about this one approx. one year ago.

There are two more relais at the front end of the box, both Bosch.

Tav8 shows the box, there are mainly 2 sorts of Relais #14 and #15, there is also a support for another relais.
#58 are the two relay to open the head lights, they are located on the inner fender near the lamp motors.

Was anybody able to locate the starter relais so far?
It's an Italmec relais which drives the starter and fuel pumps.

I would like to order one to have a spare in case of ...

Hi David,

Yep, the big one (of course :( )

Thanks, What I'm hoping to see is the actual ID markings, the manufacturer, p/n, whatever's on the cover

These things are pretty expensive, I want to see if there is another application for these, like Alfa, Lancia...

Can you get a clear close-up?

Thanks, Larry

Raymond, any ideas?
