I don't believe it.... after searching for what seems an eternity, I finally got to talk to a real person at "Motorweek". For those of you outside the USA, this is a show which has been on the air on PBS for eternity back in the 80's and 90's. And with the advent of SPEED, it has moved over there.

I remember an episode from back in the 1986-87 timeframe in which they had a shoot-out with a Ferrari 328, Lamborghini Jalpa, Lotus Turbo Esprit and a Cobra Mark IV.

Anyhow, they located the video for me!!! It is episode # 526, and is $25.00 including shipping. For anyone else that wants a copy, here is the link to their order form (they only take checks. No Credit Cards).

Mine is on order and should be here soon :)

Its been so long, I don't even remember what the results were. The one thing I do remember them tallking about, was all the torque on the Cobra combined with its light weight made their 0-60 runs very hard because the tires spun all the time! hehehee... Seems like I've heard that same thing from Cobra owners in the past!

New member and just curious to know if you have received the shootout video from motorweek. If so how was it. Do you recommend it to others. I am currently deciding between purchasing a jalpa or 328 so your opinion on that video is appreciated. Also, can you give some idea on what the factory recommended maintenance schedule looks like for a jalpa. And how do you think mantenance cost/service work compare to a 328. Trying to get a ruff idea how it compares to the 328 as far as major mantenance service goes. Thanks

I really liiked the video! Lots of good video footage of all 4 cars in the "shoot out".

The biggest reason I chose the Jalpa over the Ferrari, was exclusivness. With only 410 Jalpa's built, you know that you won't see yourself coming and going on the road.

One of the best sites around for information on the Jalpa, is Raymond's. He has a magnificent site that is loaded with information. The URL is:

http://www.jalpa.ch

Raymond has documented a bunch of the "Goods and bads" of the Jalpa. As with any exotic, some parts are cheap in price, some are horrendosly expensive.

Another fantastic site is Glen Kohuts "Lamborghini Registry":

Keep us all posted on your search, and let us know what you come up with!
