Saw a red Countach Sat. a.m. in the Detroit area which was strange in itself in Jan. This one had something though that really made you look again in disbelief. Front spoiler!! Did an image search on google to see if this an actual Lambo part. Scanned a ton of pages with nothing. Then I tried a search for Countach with front spoiler. Found this. I'm guessing these are owner add ons.

The front wing was installed by the U.S. importer of these cars in the very early 80's to get around minimum bumper height regulations for U.S. cars. The most famous one is located on the Cannonball Run Countach.

I can't say that they are good looking, but I sure as hell would rather have the wing than the large bumpers used on the later U.S. spec cars.

I saw this car at the Pocono meet several years ago. The car was in such bad shape that it could have been considered rolling junk. I overheard two people talking, one was mentioning to the other that the owner would slowly restore the car as funds allow. I've seen pictures of the car since, including this one and have to say kudos to the owner. He may still be missing some parts but he loves the car enough to try his best to restore it.

don't like front wings, but they are still better than the regular US bumpers on later cars like QV or anniversary, that was really ugly

The black Countach sounds good and loud, I went for a drive on it back in the 80s.

Very few of the new guys were playing with this Radical stuff in the 80's...and even fewer in the 70's....but some of us have held on for the long haul.... :wave:
