I know you can just glue a turbo or blower on it, every Tom, Dick, and Harry is doing that with various makes and models.

What I like is the idea of 9-11,000 RPM. I am fairly certain it is possible, especially given the 540cc/cylinder displacement and DOHC valve train. I'm not talking about running Le Mans, just having the capability, on occasion, to really wind it out.

In fact, in the aftermarket world as a whole, people don't push revs much, I am guessing because it does not have the same bang-for-the-buck as a Magnuson or Turbonetics addition. But, not all of us are a quantity-of-bang over quality-of-bang type, for the buck.

These engines are intrinsically conducive to high revs. I don't see much done in that area, though. In the racing world, Pro Stock drag racers with massive amounts of unsprung mass in their valve train are turning 11,000 RPM, with 1L/cylinder, and only two valves.

Surely, a Lambo engine can be modified to do 11k on occasion with 3X as many (thus far smaller) valves, no pushrods, rocker arms, and lifters to slam about, and HALF the displacement per cylinder.

PS how do I get the email spam to quit? I don't need an email alert every time someone sneezes. I disabled all push, but they still come.

I have never opened up a Lamborghini engine, but to get higher revs in engines you need stiffer valve springs to start. That alone will lessen the longevity of the motor. Would that be necessary in these motors? I have no idea. Somehow sportbikes do it no problem. My bike has 35,000 miles and it revs to 15.5k all the time, I've never had a failure. I also know some tunes raise the redline but how far can you go before snap, crackle, POP. I don't want to know that.

I'm with you Giallous, I would love to have a car that could hit 12K without having to pay Gordon Murray T.50 money. I have posted several times now that I would prefer Lambo build an oversquare, small displacement V12 with torquefill from the hybrid piece as the A replacement.
