The full unwind may take a year or two, where used cars are below MSRP. But the start of the unwind is imminent, imo.
So Ray, when the stuff hits the fan, are we talking outcomes more akin to Graph "A" or "B"? :giggle:

I don’t know which it’ll be.
But the end result is used cars being under MSRP. For sure regular production cars like Evos and Urus will be.
Yes, agree, eventually discounts on new cars and resales with an appropriate hit. Hoping for one more good year.

driving the huracan whole summer vs. waiting and saving up 30k?

I'd take the car anytime. life is short.
30 K, where in the US? What are the taxes on that?

But here it's totally different the first car(2016 with the wing) from my post #117 (Not the damaged one) is about 45-60K over normal times, with taxes 52-69K over.
Second car (2016 Orange 580) the difference is even greater of +- 90K over, with taxes +-103K!
= FU money

I really don’t see prices coming down any time soon
With supply chains continue to be broken(not just disrupted), with people who own these cars presently capitalizing on profits, with people who purchased high and want to protect their positions, with little market supply, and with people buying these cars at the high market price, with ICE slowly coming to an end, the market for these cars will continue to hold high market value and those praying and sitting on the sidelines will continue to pray and hope and tell their friends that they are going to buy…….just not now. But they will continue to wait on the market. At the end some will finally purchase, but most will not

All good points, and I completely agree that prices won't be back to normal for quite awhile. Most dealers simply do not have any inventory and buying a new car seems to be getting more and more difficult with so many limitations on allocations.

Full unwind end of 2023 at latest. Fed increases rate by another 0.5 next month and 0.5 the month after, Recession right around the corner. As early as this fall if Fed keeps pumping the brakes on inflation.

take usd cad or eur. also not related to msrp. if you're getting the car mid september for 30k less vs now with the current price, would you take the car now or just wait for the prices to drop?

The answer would be no. I'm still saving up, I'm getting closer but sticking with my amended budget of no more than 240K plus taxes. For some people money they earn isn't difficult, some make so much it becomes their pocket change.

Often times the money I make is a devil's paycheck, people insulting me, people throwing tantrums cursing like banshees, one job I completed a woman started to scream and turned her purse upside down spilling all the contents on the counter and bouncing on the floor NO MONEYY! Mam those are checks that fell out right there, more insanity ensued. Many try to cheat the bill even when I go out of my way on Saturday or Sunday night to help them out, some not paying the bill at all and filing complaints! On a few occasions I had to threaten to call the police, I've had to go knock on some doors at night to get paid. I could write a book...

I'm not about to take the money I've earned from hell and gift it to someone for easy profit. No.

Like my GF says I already have a nice car.

There will be another Italian festival and when the time is right I'll be there to grab it.

There is no real lack of supply relative to historical levels as it pertains to Lamborghinis. They produced more Huracans than ever and posted record production levels as a whole over the last year. That doesn't hold true for lower margin cars, like Camrys, but VAG made sure that the available chips were allocated towards higher margin cars. The lack of supply for these kinds of cars is relative to the demand that was recently created; demand for luxury goods always goes up during periods of economic euphoria. That's why handbags, watches, high-end whiskeys etc all went up in unison. Lets remember that Huracan's never depreciated like AMGs in the first place, so not like anyone is forecasting an EVO at $150k in a couple years.

Talking about the production of Huracans, I saw another one last night and will post it in my thread later on, There's so many it's outnumbering the C7 Corvettes I see on the road. It's getting close to being the Italian Chevy.

Ok I'm going to run under the table now so you can't catch me, I got that trick from my cat.... :p

Doubt there will ever be a $150k good example EVO at this point?
Eventually I think so, taking example of the Gallardo that's already 19 years old, in 2020 they were as low as 105K over here. I bet Lambo will do an outrageous design for their electric cars and people will flock onto them them dumping their outdated H. Heck they may come out with a sound to compensate the lack of the V10 exhaust like a turbine whine I'm already hearing on some electric cars.

Maybe a whine like this?

You're smart to sticking to your budget. Your time will come, just continue to enjoy your Corvette until you feel comfortable taking the leap.
