Huracan pricing bubble

I don’t know about anyone else, but these prices are getting out of control. Evos with 5k+ mileage asking for 350k plus?? Performantes in the high 300 low 400 range? 610s approaching 300? At some point this has to relax a little. I’m just some old guy venting that when he finally has enough to purchase the cars that the asking price keeps getting higher and higher.

I'm so on the fence about what to do, as the market is what it is now and no one can predict the future. I have a GT3 Touring coming in August and the Tecnica arrival is TBD. Do I pretrade the 992 TTS now, wait until August when the Touring arrives, or hold it until I know the ETA on the Tecnica? I can get a tax credit that is good for a year.

The Lamborghini dealer is offering me more than Porsche, but not knowing the arrival time of the Tecnica could put the tax credit at jeopardy if I trade it too early to them.

No car all summer? Not something I would do.
I am NOT an economist, but it’s nearly impossible to see how housing would drop anything like it did in 2008. The fundamentals are far different. I wish this chart was indexed for households. By any measure, the last decade saw a housing deficit of around 4-5M homes. There‘s no available slack in housing. The supply/demand dynamic is markedly different than 2008.

I don’t know what I’d do but I’m interested in seeing what you end up doing and if it is worth it in the end.

Worth it financially, or worth giving up the Turbo for the Tecnica?
The issue I see in the long term of Ev or Hybrids is the battery components are so expensive to replace. I do hope this won't be the case with the A replacement but the tech is too new for lower cost components. The P1's lithium-ion batteries cost approx. $150,000.

I understand it's a hypercar but even if a A replacement battery is 75k (half) it's still a huge turn off when the car is resold after warranty expire. There is a simplicity to knowing you own an H or A - the engines are tried and true. Especially for the H when you know that V10 + DCT is truly reliable and a beast.

I'll be getting into the A replacement for sure, but I will always keep one ice car!
Agree, and I also have special place in my heart for these gas-guzzling, monstrosities as per the Green New Deal fanatics.

N/A high displacement is the key to emotional connections. Even with turbos just doesn’t make any sense to me. I loved my mclaren but ultimately sold them all because they couldn’t bring enough excitement for me. The LT came very close and I’m sure the 765lt is great. If I had unlimited funds and

Sounds like you need to experience a TT Huracan.... 😁

haha I tried a VF 610 and it was really fast. Not sure STO can handle the power though.

I would probably trade in the TTS this summer or just after summer. If you are first on the list at ur lambo dealer then you should expect a car around May or June 2023 as they begin production in January. The price you get for your TTS this year I suspect is going to be much better than next year. Two reasons, one I anticipate we are heading into some sort of recession and second the 992.2 will likely be announced next year. Unless your state's tax is high Like us in ontario Canada (13% + 10% luxury tax) or BC (25% + 10% luxury tax), you might make more money selling it early vs your tax credit.

I have a TTS also as you know, i put a deposit down for a technica and i will be selling the TTS later around august/september. At least I can enjoy it for this summer haha

Tell me about it. It's Canada's government ADM lol

If we are not smart about it, webasically work from January to June with no pay haha.

If you don't income sprinkle, you basically work from January to June with no pay haha.
Exactly, The biggest problem now is they want their cut even if you didn't make the money yet! I'm working for the CRA Cartel. I said a few times already with all the taxes I pay it buys the government 4 Honda cars every year! If I include sales taxes I collect, it buys the government a pre owed Gallardo every year.

Last but not least that doesn't include the biz overhead.
While supply vs demand is affecting both markets there's a giant difference in that ICE cars are being killed off particularly at the top end. Mid to long term you can only compare high performance cars and houses if western countries try to mandate that we no longer build houses and everyone must live in an apartment. Houses (high performance ICE cars in this analogy) would be unlikely to come back down in value.
ICE coming to an end is not something that was unique to the last 18 months. Immediately prior to that point, ICE sports cars were depreciating at the same rate they always did. You can overlay a chart of plenty of assets including stocks, crypto, real estate, commodities, car prices, watch prices and you will all see the same strange and irrational bump from 2021 to now. The only difference is that there is 1 billion times more stock transactions a day than car transactions, so one is a leading indicator and the other is a lagging indicator. If sports cars transacted as frequently as stocks, you would see day-to-day and week to week dramatic movement like you are seeing in stocks as price discovery becomes much more efficient. At any rate, current pricing is a legacy of an extremely hot economy and while it may never revert to what it was pre pandemic, it’s almost impossible to consider that the same level of pricing would be supported in a much slower economy going forward. That would mean that sports car demand is completely independent of the economy and as sports car buyers tend to own more assets than average, I find that hard to believe personally.

Well have to wait and see what happens. Alot of people are over leveraged and using real estate gains to buy fancy cars and toys right now.

As Johnny Drama from entourage once said...

"You don't buy this car Vince, you lease it. That's how all the broke jerk offs in this town drive 911s."

It's funny how some people think for some bizarre reason the car market went crazy because everyone is rushing to buy ICE and NA engine supercars but had nothing to do with the trillions that was pumped into the economy.
I don’t buy cars in GTA I steal them.
I'm more of a Saints Row fan myself particularly #3 and #4.

Always keep 1 sportscar in the garage unless you get some insane offer on the TTS you can't refuse.

Trade in TTS in August when you take delivery of Touring so you can enjoy it all summer. 3 months from now you still will get decent value for the TTS compared to pre-pandemic or 2023. Wasn't too long ago Turbo's tanked in resale like rocks, I never would buy one new. Fortunately for you it's a different market currently but not forever and Turbo's will go back to tanking especially compared to GT models.

Keep or trade in Touring when you get the Tecnica.
