I am a little nervous about the exhaust system in the STO. It appears to be valved. Here’s a comment from Schmee latest video. I truly hope the STO closely approximates the sound of my beloved Performante that I cleared out to make room for the STO.

I wouldn’t worry too much. European cars may have the valve opening parameters programmed differently than US market cars due to Euro regulations. Regardless, seems like the workaround is very straightforward.

wow ... that almost sounds like a deal breaker !
I already hate that my 21 EVO has the valves closed at cold start, but this is even worse.

The 765 is trading at $150-200k over MSRP now. Mine is a rare spec and color, and was offered $220k over sticker, but turned it down. What else would I buy that can compete with the 765? Nothing. For the money, there is no better car you can buy today plain and simple. People might say "its just like a 720 but slightly faster" and it is literally nothing like a 720, completely different car. These cars should have been priced at $600k-700k+ minimum from the factory for everything you get with the car. It WILL go down as one of the best cars ever made plain and simple that is no joke. If you haven't driven one or been in one you need to, it is life changing. In regards to first time owners getting 765 allocations, I did not hear of any. I am a multi vehicle Mclaren owner so thats how I was able to secure a 765 coupe allocation, but maybe I am wrong. After Brooks from Dragtimes posted the viral video of his 765 running a 9.3 stock in the quarter mile, everything changed and people went nuts for them. The 765 spider is all sold out already, my dealer has a list of 150 people wanting an allocation for a 765 spider. Everyone wants them now after seeing how amazing they are. I am getting one along side my coupe because the car is that good. Would not be surprised if the prices on them keep going up for the foreseeable future simple based on the fact it will go down as the last, fastest pure ICE car ever made.

Now in regards to the STO, I think even though it is not going to be a limited/numbered car, it still is going to hold its value excellent and may go up in value no matter how many they produce. The world is changing to hybrids and electric. And car enthusiasts still want V12's, V10's, and V8's. This will be the last Lambo NA V10 and that right there is going to cause a big demand for the car, plus the looks and performance are amazing. I am getting an STO as well as my 765 spider just for the record. Will the STO be able to outperform either my 765 coupe or spider, not at all. But a street legal, NA V10 screaming behind you, full on race car, who cares? I am going with the launch spec of the STO with the light blue and orange to somewhat match my Tokyo Cyan and orange accents 765.

Bottom line is, cars like the STO and 765 are the last of the pure ICE vehicles before everything goes hybrid/electric. They will hold their value excellent and most likely continue to appreciate in value simply based on that fact. You can't get 765 spider allocations, and STO allocations are out there currently, I know this because I placed my STO allocation from my dealer only 3 weeks ago. But I foresee they will be gone soon because the word is getting out of how cool the STO really is.

Everything is selling over list for stupid money, it means nothing because we're in a bubble market. The 765LT might be a brilliant car but no one is paying the crazy over msrp prices and with over 1500 been built they'll plenty of them coming to NA. Prices will eventually come down and I predict the 765 will be selling at or below list.

And go watch SavageGarage, Randy's friend got rid of his 765LT after a few weeks of ownership because it had so many issues and got himself a SVJ. I bet they'll be more 765's will build quality issues because every Mclaren is plagued with them .

If you watched his later video, his friends 765 was discovered to have no air filters and that was causing the issues. Easy fix, owner sold the car back to the dealer, and the dealer sold the car for $150k over MSRP two days later. I have not heard of a single 765 having reliability problems. to say every Mclaren is plagued with issues is simply false. Have you personally owned a Mclaren before and can attest to this? 20,000 HARD miles on my 570s and almost 1,500 miles on my 765 so far, and no issues whatsoever. This is 2021, all cars need to be reliable or the brand won't survive. And if every Mclaren had issues like you state, then Mclaren would not be around as a company anymore haha. There are thousands of Mclarens on the road that are 100% reliable and doing just fine. Now if you want to talk about an unreliable car, look at aventadors. My Mclaren dealer who also is a Lambo dealer, has Aventadors in their shop getting repairs of some type on average of just 2,000 miles they told me. Now I have never owned an Aventador so I do not have first hand experience of this, but I do not hear good things about them from my dealer. Huracan's they tell me are very reliable, no problems. My STO should be bulletproof whenever it shows up.

Funny I have had 3 Macs and onto my 4th and have had no issues. BTW: had more issues with an ML Merc my wife used than any L, M, F or Pcar

The 765lt is very desirable for its MSRP, looks, performance, everything. I would buy one to keep forever. But even in this super-heated market, there's already 15 on autotrader and I can see a few of them have already reduced price. This is before deliveries are even finished for the coupe and the total production will double when the spider hits. It may not trade down to where the 675lt was at the bottom but not sure if this car will continue to command premiums once the dust has settled. The 675lt has risen quite a bit (in fact less for sale now than 765lt) but is still only 60% of MSRP or so for a nice one.

Also I didn't realize they plan to produce up to 1,500 STOs? (Edit - just read a few pages back and this has been discussed)

Same argument could be made for the SVJ correct? There are 13 listed for sale on Autotrader at the moment....

The 1500 is a misquote and never came from the CEO. The 1500 number is probably how many Huracan's are in the order books until July. I mean they only sold 2200 Huracan's last year so 1500 STO's would make up almost 70% of Huracan sales which is not possible. The RWD is the biggest seller.

What annoys me with 765LT owners and not a dig at anyone posting in this thread is they don't talk about the car but they talk how much it's selling over list which means NOTHING in this market. Everything is selling like crazy. I mean take a look at SVJ roadster prices, 6 months ago they were selling for list or under but now they're selling for $50k+ over. Nothing has changed with the car, it's the same SVJ roadster it was 6 months ago except for a car market that is disconnected from reality.

No one is buying 765LT's for these idiotic prices and other than a limtied edition badge (even though there's over 1500 been builit) the 720s is literally the same car for half the price. Like I posted earlier, the 765LT will fall back down to reality and once someone who's desperate sells one for close to list the bubble will burst.

I am awaiting delivery of my STO in September. Build is complete and awaiting shipment.

Can someone confirm if the following options are available or standard equipment, as they didn't seem to be available for my build within the configurator:

  • Electro chromatic mirrors (was told this was standard and not an option)
  • Apple Carplay (was told this was standard and not an option)
  • Reverse Camera (was told this was standard and not an option)

Can someone confirm, as I don't believe the online configurator is accurate.

Thanks.
