Huracán STO

So a few weeks ago my dealer told me about the Huracán Super Trofeo Omologato possibly being unveiled in August next year which should be the most hardcore street legal Huracan yet. It should get tech from the new Evo, be extremely light and also have 5 point harness racing seats. Also it will most likely be number-limited.

Does anyone on here have more information on this?

That's a great question? I wonder how many buyers would prefer it without the roll cage? I know I would be one.
The reason I say that is that it is my understanding that exposed medal cages are illegal in the US market but not so in Europe. From the porsche world many gt cars with factory cages in Europe lack the factory cage in the US. I also noticed on the configurator here in the USA it shows a traditional 3 point seat belt, although in other markets it is said to come with 4 point harness. So in the USA well be 15 or so lbs lighter and have our behind the seat storage space back, unless we choose to do the install aftermarket. Personally, I don’t want the cage or the 4 point harness, as it does look ultra cool, in actual use on the road it is inconvenient to say the least.
While the Evo Exhaust sounds good the problem that not even an upgraded exhaust will help is the way it cuts the pops and cracks far more than my 2015. I'm guessing the Evo is similar to Huracans made after 2016 or were updated with that software that cut down on them? I never did that update. So I wonder if Sto will have that same safety feature?

The STO exhaust is unique and sounds louder and more like a race car. For cracks and pops there are aftermarket tuners that can give them back to you if you want them.
I don't think so but Akrapovic is relasing a new exhaust the EVO and Performante. I assume it'll be available for the STO...

Let’s hope that’s the stock STO exhaust.

Yes, correct. According to Lambo the engine sound is improved and sharpness at high revs.

Yes, until the gpf

Might do a tune but still get them most of the time, just not as much as in my 2015. Guessing they did this to protect cats?

This is the first time I have heard this, so the EVO has less pops and cracks by design?

When it detects cats getting to hot it shuts them off for a couple seconds. Would think your car does that as lambo made this change around 2017, but if you don't drive that hard you might not even notice it. So I'm curious if Sho will have it also?
How does my friend's M4 GTS have the rollcage in US and STO doesnt?

BMW got DOT approval.

Boy that is interesting. I will pay more attention to that next time I drive and see after driving for a while if the secondary exhaust sounds decrease.

I spoke with Eurocharged in Dallas last week and they going to write me a new tune for my EVO. The one they did for my 580 gave me crazy snaps & pops, not to mention the extra power. They have a stage 2 now that can take my 610 to 670 claimed.

I liked the natural sounding exhaust pre huracan/pre 458, it’s all to synthetic with those cars and the ones since.

I agree! i do hope STO factory exhaust sounds more natural... the bit they have on the website is pretty solid but need to hear it in person to pass judgement!
I know a lot of people don’t like those sound effects and I hated when I first saw the release video of the Huracan, then I found myself liking it. I will admit sometimes it’s almost embarrassing it’s so loud.

Yea my Huracan actually became to much for me, had a Fabspeed exhaust and was very loud. I'm happy with Evo exhaust, sounds great when accelerating and the pops and cracks are not annoyingly loud. Not sure I want to do a tune that disables the safety feature? Even when I had VF tune on my 2015 it didnt disable it and would still reduce them for a couple seconds when I was playing a bit to much trying to get the loudest sounds
The wife and I love the sounds these cars generate. If we are in the sports car she often asks "could you shut the music so we can listen to the engine?". Though, I only have the Sport Exhaust in the Huracan but it sounds pretty decent.
Viking, do you think Russ will finally get it right and get a Coupe? :giggle:
Russ will never buy One so the only way is if he is gifted it.

I guess some people are just drop top fans and are beyond rehabilitation! ;)
