Hello all.

I read a post that mentioned the "trailer Queen" philosophy. For the owners out there, are Lamborghini's a good cross country experience? Or are they for short trips only? Also I have read articles in the past that mention that Lamborghini's are great in a straight line but not so good in the curves. Any comments?

The gallardo is termed as an every day car by Lamborghini. In terms of the straight line comment, yes that was true with the diablos and to some extent the sheer size of the murcielago makes it hard to throw around turns. However, the gallardo is a cornering machine.

Most owners have another car if they need to travel a long way. Usually if I have a decent trip planned, my Mercedes gets the gig. Better ride, comfort, CD, cruise control etc. My longest run in the Lambo is 800km (500mi) in 2 days. Other can easily beat me on this.

Thats got to be a joke... While the summer was still here (northern CA), I was driving 30+ miles on Sunday's just to get to my favorite curvy yet reasonably fast mountain road. Wicked fun. :D

PS Just drove 1100 miles to San Diego and back a few weekends ago... and I might add that "pimp factor" is the last thing in your head 'crusing' (ha) down I5 accompanied by a Gallardo, Murci and another Diablo.

I've driven my SV From San Diego to Napa Valley, San Diego to Monterey, San Diego to Las Vegas, all round trips. The trip to LV was even on a 110 degree heat wave at a crawling <10 mph speed, on a 2000-3000 feet uphill. To be perfectly honest, I was scared of overheating. My car handle the heat just fine even with my A/C on at full blast.

The only thing I worry about when I drive my car is finding a secured parking where ever I'm going.

My longest run has to be Feb 04, I picked up my new G-Car in Texas, drove straight through to FLorida for the Daytona 500, then back to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. After that to Las Vegas for a few days, then home to Seattle, with NOT ONE PROBLEM, (e-Gear)
So;d the G-car just last month, over 7500 miles on it.

I think the comment referring to Lambos not wanting to go fast around corners and only going fast in straight lines is kind of funny due to the fact that I've heard them referred to as corner carvers.. what article was that? I can't imagine a Lambo ever wanting to JUST go in a straight line.

For someone my size. 5'6" about 140lbs the Jalpa has some of the most comfortable seats I have sat in. The longest I have driven the car was 1250 miles in 2 days. Whether around town or on the highway it is a great car to drive.

Thanks for the feedback...

Take it easy guys...the ferrari comments are hitting below the belt.

I too am a lamboholic. I was just wanting the real scoop on how awesome these cars really are. Unfortunately, I have only been able to see a few Lamborghini's up close at car shows. I have never had the pleasure of riding in one. Now I have a better idea, thanks.

Hey JRV

I understand. It really wasn't my intent to question the reliability of the cars. I just wanted to here about the road trips, and make sure that you guys are driving these cars and not storing them. Its nice to here that LT members aren't affraid to drive their cars.

The car has an awesome cooling system and handles very well.
I was surprised at how well it handles because of the size and weight of the car. The car has a very wide track and the fact that its mid engine helps alot

My friend and I took his G-car up from LA to Vegas and back for the Silver State Race. Though we didn't get to do the race, we tacked on about 1500 miles in a couple of days. No problems! Just the back gets a little sore. :)
