I don't understand why some people are so concerned about price of PPF on a 275k car. . The most important thing on PPF is the quality of the installer's work! (DO YOUR HOMEWORK) And to do paint correction with the same concern for quality. Another $1000 or so one way or another is not the issue, the installer is the issue. Any worthy installer will welcome you to speak with past customers and inspect his past work. Do you due diligence and you won't be surprised when you go to pick up car. BTW, mine was 7000, and covered it all.

Before I, or someone, I care about has surgery, I do quite a bit of leg work to find out the reputation/success of the surgeons past procedures. The last thing that comes to my mind is $$$. I took the same approach when I had my new Huracan PPF. Another thing I suggest, is to go check out car after the first day of work if possible.
Precisely. I got 2 quotes for an R8 Spyder and opted for the lower price of $6k (including paint correction and ceramic coat). (SW FL) It was just poorly installed. This is not an area you want to search for best price. Search for best installer!

The price would not make any difference. My wife is a surgeon and believe me, three different surgeons are NOT going to have the same results. Try it and see,...
Lol!! Love it!! No thanks…I’ll go to a different surgeon. Don’t want her to look differently at you after working on me! Haha!!!

Sounds like you all are saying go for the most expensive. I can tell you that does NOT work in Tampa.

OP, does a local company mean other than the dealership PPF installer? I understand the convenience of having the car delivered with the PPF installed and I went that route with the dealership installer for my first Porsche and it was horrible. So, my advice is verify the quality of the installer at this "local company" by his reviews and maybe you can go by see some of his work. I advise due diligence.......
It’s a independent shop but the one that the dealership sends all their customers to. They don’t have an employed in house guy for that.
Anyone had their PPF done by West Palm Lambo’s subcontractor?

Couldn’t find reviews for him on Yelp so I’m having second thoughts when accounting for the general feedback.

The group that will be doing my satin ppf on my Lambo is about $1k more than some of the others I've seen. $1k is not going to break me but I definitely don't want to feel like I'm getting ripped off. Over the past month i've been to the ppf shop at least 3 different times. Each time they were very welcoming and showed me different stages of the process on some amazing cars. They have huge windows so if you like you can watch them do each step of the disassembly, wrap and reassembly of your vehicle. The SAs at the dealership only recommend this one shop in my area. Their comment to me was: "They are a little more expensive than others but we've never seen one of our customers with a problem and their work is outstanding". I've seen them working on a black Perf, taking it from gloss to a matte black, my first thought was "this is exactly how I want my car to look!!" I'll be taking my Tesla there for a full frontal Xpel, I'm sold!

Hopefully, someone on the forum can give some honest feedback about said installer. TBH, that PPF job on my first Porsche was so bad I had them redo it and when it came back it was just as bad as the their first effort plus I had three chips on the roof on the drivers side as an added bonus. It turns out the installer was both careless and sloppy. Bottom line, poor installers can do real damage...........

Deezwho, if you are considering WP, I would be glad to share with you the gentleman that I used in Rockledge, Flordia. He did a amazing job on my car. I believe it was the 5th EVO he had done this year. He knows his way around these cars. I am just about 125 miles north of WPB. There also is a very good installer in Orlando that I know of.

Not sure who Lambo WPB uses. But, from what I have seen, some dealers may not use the best. I am almost sure the dealers make a very decent cut (1000 + or -) I have been told on jobs they set up. So pricing does become an issue here.

My guy is a one man show and does everything himself.

Whatever, the case, I hope both of you guys end up with a great job!

What is the benefit of having a dealer install it on delivery? Seems like it'd be better to just pick up the car and go straight to the installer yourself to skip the middleman.
The dealer will outsource the work to the local cheapest source. Bottom line. Lamborghini's have tons of creases in their exterior lines, and that's where some installers cut corners. This is one area where I would feel more comfortable selecting the installer based on referrals. I would not rely on dealer unless you know his source, then convenience helps. Some dealers will tell you the source

I would never let dealership do it. Even if they do have a decent shop they use they are not going to get one of the shops more experienced people. Also even though car is brand new it's a must to do a full detail and any paint protection needed before install. Just ask around and you will always hear the same couple names in every area who are the best to use

I’m in Orlando (winter park technically) so I was thinking to have it done by the dealer since it’s being delivered not local pickup. Based on the feedback in general sounds like I’d be better off using one of the guys around here who I can screen their work.
I’ve heard Ultimate Auto is good and the guys at mbworld suggested I take my G over then when it arrives so maybe I’ll check out their work on Lambos?

Can you DM me the shop you know in the Orlando area?

For any Aussies here I use a PPF company Clearshield located in Sydney. They have wrapped all my cars for the last 7 years. They do a perfect work everytime. I wouldnt take it anywhere else. Cost wise I think its around $ 7-8K

Finding a first rate installer is the key, and far more important than the PPF material used. I found someone of high quality in the Central Texas/Austin area that has proved to be both outstanding and consistent. I found him by word of mouth from other highly satisfied car enthusiasts..........the highest recommendation one can earn.

In Texas with a good installer : $2500 for full frontal + Rockers; $5K to 6K for full coverage.
The materials that are preferred are XPEL for toughness and Suntek for clarity. The problem I have with Suntek is that invariably within a short time after installation I find a through and through perforation.........so much for self-healing. I probably will go with XPEL next go around.
Old post, but where (shop and city) in Texas had you receive this quote? I'd like to replace my full frontal!
