Hi All,

Longtime lurker - first time poster.

I’m looking to buy from an independent a 2014 Huracan circa 13k miles and has dealer FSH (most recent one in October).

I’ve had a Full pre purchase inspection done from Lamborghini at my cost of £540 and they have heard on two cold drives the following: “ Heard an occasional crunching noise from rear of car when changing gear. Only when cold, stopped once warm. Suspect noise from gearbox. Requires further investigation”

They’ve upgraded the software but it still happens.

Has anyone else had this issue?

They’ve had two mechanics look at it and they said the only thing they can do is to take the gearbox out at a cost of £5k which I won’t do.

Has anyone else come across this?
TIA.

I have not heard of anyone with a similar problem, but I sure wouldn't purchase a car with that kind of an issue. Most likely the gearbox will require rebuild or replacement, either way not good.

I would want to know how many owners and see if you can get a printout on how many launches.

Unless you are getting this crazy cheap and knowing you will need to pull the trans when you get it, I would pass on this one. There are too many that don't make the noise available. After saying that, if cheap enough, I like to work on stuff, so I would get it home and pull it apart. This would be a better option than trying to rebuild a wrecked one. It could be something as simple as a CV joint, wheel bearing, clutch basket... dunno.

I agree wot the others, unless you’re getting a very nice discount why take the risk. There are tons of Huracans on Car Guru, AutomTrader etc.
