Gallardo prices falling?

17971 Views 275 Replies 50 Participants Last post by  mcomet
I'm planning on buying a G very soon and I'm wondering if Gallardo pre Lp prices are dropping now?

My general assessment is that prices for a pre Lp G coupe egear are hovering in the low 100's now.
Where prices much higher a year ago?

Is it the general consensus that prices will likely fall within the coming year? By how much?

I know no one has crystal ball, just looking for opinions

Thanks

Guys, I actually miss driving the G over the H tbh. The G feels more “raw” to me and requires extra effort to drive. The H is almost too smooth and easy to drive.
@Luzifer @Rampante21

Grab a G or don’t start with a G and just wait for the H or you may end up feeling like me.

Especially Luzifer, because you drive vette’s which are more throaty and muscle car ish driving style, the G may be your kind of drive over the H.

I still prefer the H because of the exterior looks, modern interior and the exhaust sound. Posting that car I was toying at the idea.

Do you prefer the G over the H for other reasons other than rawness, how about the looks?

I like the looks of both. I like both sounds with modified exhaust, both have horrible factory exhaust not EVO or STO lumped into that. Drive wise, I like the G better for my type of driving. However, if I was doing long trips or lots of highway driving, the H is really smooth and easy to drive, plus I have cruise control so I can basically zone out or take a nap in the H while it drives me smoothly lol.
This car dropped 9K in a little over 2 weeks since it's posting.

Looks like it's going to need another 50k drop lol

Edit: oh I realized it's probably in CAD 😄

Ya Kanada, cha ching expensive. :(

Pre pandemic the cheapest Gallardos were not below 105K, today a few of them are priced in the Huracan range of 2020's!

I prefer the rawness over the newer cars. Definitely prefer the sound it’s not even close. Finally I think the Gallardo is a much better looking car. I didn’t even consider the Huracan. They all look the same to me. I’m glad people don’t see the value in the Gallardo. Allowed me to pick one up nearly brand new for over $100k less than MSRP. Plus if I ever want gated I love that’s an option.

G is definitely a sharper looking car imo. Huracan looks like all the newer Lamborghinis, bulbous and like a spaceship. If I upgraded within Lamborghini I would only consider a Murcielago. Otherwise I would have to switch to Ferrari.

I love the huge headlights of the Gallardo and Murci, the smaller sharply angled ones on the Huracan and Aventador always looked undersized to me

The Gallardo still maintains some of the classic Lamborghini lines. Last of the classic Lamborghini's for sure.

I love my Pre-LP Gallardo, BUT I would absolutely upgrade to a Huracan if I had the opportunity. I now have a McLaren 600LT as well and my plan (next few years) is to swap the G for an H when the time is right. In my opinion the engine sounds the same. You may get a more docile ride with the dual clutch, but the new body shape and tech is definitely worth it in my mind. Again I love the Gallardo but I do not think it is the same as a Huracan. But that's me and admittedly I am constantly changing my mind. If I had a factory gated version I would definitely keep it, but outside of that.....

Why does it matter if it’s factory gated? Just curious because you could do the conversion anytime.

I too always wonder about the term "factory gated" when conversions are done with oem factory parts.

Haha, right.... just pondering the same thing. PLUS.. the VIN matched factory cars are becoming 'collectors' so if you actually want to drive the thing as it's intended, Isn't a conversion a better route to pleasure?? It's time to remove the Stigma attached to conversions, it's not some Hack job, and 2nd Gen cars already have the wiring there from the factory. Everything bolts into place and some ECU re-coding and all good.

Buying a factory gated spyder is significantly more expensive than buying then converting. You’ll save tens of thousands easily.
Supercars are weird. I feel like people buy them but never drive them. I just don’t get that. I drive my car constantly. If I have a choice and I don’t need my truck, I’m taking the Lamborghini. I’m not saving this car for the next person. I didn’t buy this as an investment.
I also feel like people follow the masses and just “upgrade” because they are the newer/faster car. When I buy a car I think whether or not it’s a timeless design. The newer exotics just don’t look timeless to me. Sure they are nice and will always be nice. But there is a difference. As far as power goes you can make anything fast, so I’ve never understood that either. I really wonder when people buy the Huracan if they actually like what it looks like or they just wanted to newest model.
I’m not a Stradman fan or Social Media Influencer follower. But I love how of all the cars he’s had he still considers his Gallardo to be one of if not his favorite.

Totally agree, I bought my G because I wanted the last breed of gated Lamborghini (I bought to manual convert) also bought because of the name of course and the sound of the 5.0 v10 I saw an earlier post someone said the 5.0 and 5.2 pretty much sounds the same, not true at all. just the rawness of the driving experience is what I like about the pre LP and to be honest I couldn't afford a Murci at the time. If I just wanted a fast car with tech I would have bought a Honda or Nissan and tuned it to the point of no return 🤣 I definitely did not purchase because of the 0-60 time or the infotainment system 🤣

People that say they are comparable are lying to themselves. It’s not close at all. It’s one of the top 5 best sounding cars of all time! I rather stick with the Gallardo over the Murcielago because I can drive it constantly with no guilt. Hahaha right. I upgraded the touch screen and speakers and that’s all I need. I don’t need any other tech.

I'd do a factory gated swap any day all day if it was more understood/easier on parts hunting to do. I follow the threads here and it just looks like a hound-hunt for certain parts or overpaying for rare conversion stuff

Being a pre lp owner myself I do not see how others are saying they sound the same. Just watch a few YouTube videos and you will instantly hear the difference in exhaust tones. I have been locked out of my radio for over a year now (if anyone can help me please do lol) and enjoy listening to the LOC exhaust with cat deletes just scream. If this is not in your top 5 best sounding cars of all time it definitely deserves top 10 in my opinion.
