My '07 G has had a fixed SL wing for over a year with no issues...but yesterday I got it back from a service and I'm getting the double-banana error (wing issue).
The battery died during the 3 weeks they had the car and I think it "activated" the rear wing motor or something like that. (my remote also wouldn't work but I fixed that)

I can hear the wing actuator trying to work for a few seconds after I start the car (it stops after a bit), and the left side of the wing is now up a little, while the right side hasn't moved.

Is there an easy way to get the left side back down, and then once I do that, how do I stop the wing actuator from engaging again? I don't know why it started to do this, as I've had no prior problems with it. Previous owner installed the wing. I can take it back to the shop but it's a 100 miles round trip so prefer to fix it if I can.

Thanks for whatever advice you can provide... ~ Marcus

You can manually lower the wing with a T-25 torx bit on the motor itself. The motor is located under the black cover in the center of the deck lid, the part where the glass has the trapazoidal shape. Counter clockwise loosens it. You don't need to turn much and it should go back to the lowered position.

While you are there, I recommend that you actually remove that entire motor assembly and the metal lines and actuation mechanisms as it will not only prevent this from happening, but it will save weight as well.
Awesome, thanks so much for your help and for the picture. I’m going to get to work on this later today / tomorrow. Will let you know how it goes!

Take the mechanism cover off and see were the travel is off. If I remember correctly, it has a pushrod going to each side of the wing.
Thank you I appreciate your help very much! Looking forward to fixing this myself, as the shop says it will be 3 weeks before they can get back to me. (Insert frown face)
