Nice write and has me thinking I should try this way. Do you think would be same for coupe? I hard wired my new car the other day and didnt need to remove panels and was able to tuck, but found its not tight enough along headliner so wire keeps dropping. Guess I can take off my dome light and see if it similar? Or would going to mirror be better?

I googled Huracan dome lights and they seem to look the same for coupes and spyders. So am willing to be you can tug it out from the front and check. Once it’s out you might be able to see into the headliner a bit and get the cable right, maybe even find a spot to put a plastic zip tie and get it fully taught?

Another thought is trying to thicken the cable at the spot it keeps getting loose at. Maybe a bit more girth will do the trick (that’s what she said..)

Why is it most of the radar detectors look so dated? I just can't believe there isn't something better and more modern looking. I loved my Valentine, but it just looks unattractive. I guess I want something that looks like a lamborghini with sharp angles and a futuristic design.

It is actually the dome light assembly that was used. Pretty sure it would be same in your coupe as that was used in the original post. Easy peasy. The pics are completely self explanatory. Go for it. 👍

Yea I realized that and popped my dome out, not sure why I have more wires in mine? Also don’t have any thing to test with. Can I just keep trying different combos? For now I secured cord better by using tape to thicken it. But would like to do power tap at some point.

Valentine just updated theirs to a Gen 2. It’s slightly more stylish but I can’t say it’s pretty. That’s why I like these things out of the way and not under the rear view mirror - I find it’s an eye sore and it hurts my visibility

Yea my 2022 is different than OP 2020. Not sure if it's because of year or that mine is a coupe and his a spyder?

It looks like he has auto dimming mirror? I did not choose that and perhaps this explains more wires?

Also I noticed on OP picture he ran the wire over headliner, when I had my dome off saw you can easily run that wire under headliner right to windshield

I did not run Uber the headliner. Can barely see the flat braid wire

This kit came with 3 types of insert pins: flat, pin point and blunt tips. I used the pin point ones.

I’d recommend the 20” one. In hindsight I’m finding that I could have used a bit more for more placement options.

If they’re difficult to insert you could use needle nose Pliers. In the past I’ve also filed down the probes..but did not need to in this application. They just slipped in for me, easy peezy.

For the headliner I did not try too hard to see if I could get it under for a cleaner install. I can barely see the wire in sunlight so it was good enough for me. If I get in there again I may try for it though, just to get an extra bit of length.

Well that was a fail, very easy to do and it worked but I found no combination that allowed it to turn off with car. Will just stick with it going to fuse panel. And thickening the cord stopped the cord from drooping
