Funniest/Stupidiest Comment You've Heard about Your Lambo

Someone started a similar thread over at Lotus talk that has gone on for years, so I thought it might be amusing to start one here. Please post the funniest or stupidest comment you've ever heard someone make about your Lamborghini.

I've only had my car for a little over a month, but I did have to laugh when I overheard someone in a restaurant comment that my Gallardo looked like it was sprouting tusks. I would have never came to that on my own but I do see it now. :rolling:

A gentleman cannot tell. 🤣
LOL
Was walking inside a business and there happened to be a line at the door. There was an older gentleman who was a few people ahead of me, when I got there. Eventually he finishes his transaction and his wife joins him, from elsewhere in the business, before they head toward the exit. As he's about to walk out, he points at my car, across the lot, and complains to his wife that he feels like he wasted all of those years in engineering school.

Was walking back to my car, in a parking lot, and 2 unrelated couples were standing around it. Neither of them pay any attention to me, assuming I'm walking to another vehicle.

I overhear the couple behind the car (probably mid 30s) talking to each other. The lady points out my military plates to the guy, who then explains to her that the owner has to have military family, because no one who's been in the service could ever afford a car like that (that's not how military plates work, here). He then starts telling her that it must be nice to have Lambo money, and that the owner probably doesn't even appreciate it.

The other couple, likely in their 60s, is on the side of the car. I see the husband staring intently at something on the side of the car, after having just leaned on it. He then motions for his wife to come closer, and reaches down, trying to open my gas cap. He then tells her that it must be some fancy thing, because it won't open, as he tries it again (wtf).

As I get closer, I unlock the car, before smiling and waving at them. The couple in the back ask if it's my car (duh), before launching into the typical how much do you make, how much did you pay for it, questions. The older guy just mumbles to himself, as he and his wife walk off.

I would have given the older guy grief for trying to open my gas cap. WTF that is BS.

I considered it, but he gave me the impression of someone who wouldn't give a spit if someone said something to him, and would likely claim he wasn't hurting anything. My father-in-law is the exact same way. :ROFLMAO:
Murci/Diablo gas cap costs $915
I’d be stealing gas caps too, if I had to put food on the table… luckily I eat my TV dinners on the couch.

I still would have at least asked... "Why were you trying to open my gas cap?" He may not have cared to much about your question, but I bet his wife would have had something to say on the drive home. My dad is probably similar, but my mom sure would have given him an earful.

If I ever seen him messing with it again, I'll be sure to say something. It's pretty rare that I catch people touching the car, but when I do, I usually try to come up with a polite way of letting them know that it's disrespectful. This particular fella just looked like a major grump, and tend to cause a ruckus when called out. Didn't think of the wife aspect though, good point.

I think he wanted a memento from the Lambo, unknowingly he didn't know the H doesn't have a gas cap but if it did it would of been an easy thing to steal if the fuel door wasn't also locked.

I think Luzifer is probably right. I would have not let it slide. Trying to open my gas cap means either A: he is going to put something in it or B He is going to steal it. I am normally very nice to people looking at my cars. However, if they cross the line then I will give them serious grief. I think our society has gotten way too tolerant of criminal behavior. It amazes me how arrogant and rude some people are. What would he have done if he walked up to his car and you were trying to open the gas cap?

I thought about it a little more. I can totally understand not wanting a big conflict in the parking lot. Too many nut jobs out there these days. My problem is my mouth often gets ahead of my brain. One of these days that will probably backfire.

Knowing how identifiable my car is, I try to pick my battles. In this guy's case, I'm absolutely positive he wasn't being malevolent, as I could tell he was being inquisitive, and wondering how it worked. I've seen my FIL do the same type of thing, as he's always in his own little world, and self centered, so I knew the look well. It was still absurdly rude and he should absolutely know better, especially at his age.

An On coming new Corvette stops next to me in valet… we stop ready to engage in dialogue. With a big grin on my face I said “at least my car is going up in value”

just prior to that, at a gas station. Three kids on the way to prom, jumped out of their 68 GTO and could not stop drooling at my Murci. I let them sit in it and take pics, just so they had a cool story about Their prom.
Funny thing is the new C8 Z06 is up in value. They are getting 50-70K over sticker

Based on bring a trailer, not including the 70th anniversary editions, they are down from their peak, and will continue on that path, especially as more get delivered, and the ZL1 and Zora hit the scene.

Yes….
I realize that……. point was it’s the first time Z06 has really ever been selling way over sticker, so if you got it at MSRP you are significantly ahead was the point. Hence why I put 50 K not 100 K which they were bringing 👍
There is no ZL1 only a Zora with msrp probably north of 200K.
The new Z06 are amazing cars. I’ve had one for 2 1/2 months. Very quick off the line sounds good and handles exceptionally. Still can’t compete with my plaid in a straight line. I’ve had some very strong trade numbers if I decide to go that route, considering a Huracan /458.
Had a even trade number on newer 570 spider (passed) 👍
Have a great weekend

Was an auto correct error, was supposed to be ZR1, which is definitely coming out. But technically, the Z06 has come down in value, in the last few months, even if it's still above sticker.
He already has a Z06 thread. And those aren’t the kind of “stupidest” comments the thread intends. Lol
