Hello Shahram: I believe you may have bought one of the chome fuel caps like I did. I think we got them from Evans? Anyway I have noticed twice now that they will leak a little gas. If you do not tighten them very hard you may find gas by your cap when you open the door. Even if you tighten it hard, when you start to release the cap some fuel may seep out. I did not have this happen with the original cap which I placed back on my car.
If you compare both caps you will see that the original has much more gasket material and more threads so it screws on tighter. Anyway, because your fuel nozzel and mine are probably the same I thought you might want to know this.

Hi Sean: Yes it does but it is not even one-half the width of the original cap. When I first saw the new cap with the skinny seal I suspected it would give me trouble. Evan's auto told me it would fit my car, but in reality I feel it is unsafe to use. Cost me $100 to become a decoration in my model display case!

Tom,

I have Lambo paperwieghts that cost me far in excess of $100, but will the original gaskit that's thicker fit on the new cap?? There may be a way to get home from here.
